Abstract: A method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving a first stage of piggyback downlink control information (DCI). The first stage includes scheduling information for a second stage of piggyback DCI. The method also includes receiving the second stage in accordance with the scheduling information. The second stage includes component DCIs. The first and second stages are separately decoded. A method of wireless communication by a base station includes transmitting a first stage of piggyback DCI. The base station also transmits the second stage in accordance with the scheduling information. The second stage includes component DCIs. The first and second stages are separately coded.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a physical random access channel (PRACH) preamble configuration that indicates a first preamble format for a first PRACH preamble and a second preamble format for a second PRACH preamble, wherein the first preamble format is different from the second preamble format. The UE may transmit the first PRACH preamble as part of a random access procedure based at least in part on the PRACH preamble configuration, wherein transmitting the first PRACH preamble enables a determination of a symbol boundary offset. The UE may transmit the second PRACH preamble as part of the random access procedure based at least in part on the PRACH preamble configuration, wherein transmitting the second PRACH preamble enables a determination of a symbol timing offset. Numerous other aspects are described.

A user equipment (UE) may receive a first downlink control information (DCI) scheduling a downlink transmission at the UE, where the first DCI includes an indication of a first resource allocation for the downlink transmission. The UE may determine that the downlink transmission includes a downlink data message multiplexed with second DCI. The UE may receive an indication of a second resource allocation for the second DCI. The UE may determine a transport block size (TBS) of the downlink data message based on the first resource allocation for the downlink transmission and the second resource allocation for the second DCI. The UE may then process the downlink transmission based on the TBS of the downlink data message.

A user equipment (UE) may identify a configuration of a set of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) to be transmitted by a first base station or a second base station. In some cases, the UE may be served by the first base station and the UE may receive, from the first base station or the second base station, a message indicating that a transmission of at least one SSB of the set of SSBs is canceled and indicating resources for a signal (e.g., a reference signal, alternative SSB transmission) to be transmitted by the first base station or the second base station as an alternative to the canceled at least one SSB. The UE may receive, based on the received message from the first base station or the second base station, the signal using the indicated resources.

A base station may identify, for a user equipment (UE), a configuration for receiving a set of downlink control information (DCI) messages on one or more layers of a set of layers of a downlink shared channel. The base station may transmit, to the UE, a first DCI message in a downlink control channel, where the first DCI message may schedule resources of the downlink shared channel for the set of piggybacking DCI messages. The UE may receive the first DCI message and identify the configuration for receiving the set of DCI messages on the one or more layers of the downlink shared channel. The UE may receive, from the base station, the set of DCI messages on the one or more layers of the downlink shared channel based on the identified configuration.

Abstract: A non-geosynchronous satellite system, where each satellite has an antenna (perhaps a multi-element antenna) to form a beam pattern comprising a set of beams in the footprint of the satellite, where in one implementation each beam is substantially elliptical in shape having a minor axis and a major axis, where the minor axes are substantially collinear and the major axes are substantially oriented east to west. For a satellite, power is reduced or turned off for a subset of the set of beams, wherein each beam in the subset is reduced at or below a corresponding power level such that when a beam is powered above its corresponding power level an equivalent power flux-density (EPFD) exceeds a limit at some point on the Earth's surface.

Abstract: Techniques are described for supporting user equipment (UE) positioning in a non-terrestrial network (NTN). To allow calculating a position/location of a UE based on reference signal (RS) measurements to and from one satellite (or a terrestrial base station), a device may be configured to calculate a doppler measurement and a range measurement and report such measurements to be used by a location server to calculate a UE position. An example device may receive a first RS (with the first RS being one of a positioning reference signal (PRS) or a sounding reference signal (SRS)), receive a second RS associated with the first RS, calculate a doppler measurement based on one or both of the first RS or the second RS, and report the doppler measurement. The doppler measurement (such as a measured frequency offset) may be used by a location server to calculate a UE position on the earth surface.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may obtain updated location information, and determine a time difference between a previous communication with a network and a scheduled uplink transmission. Based on the determined time difference, the UE may determine a timing advance (TA) component of a TA value to apply for the uplink transmission, and transmit an uplink message in the uplink transmission according to the determined TA value and the location information. In some examples, the time difference may be based on a first duration between the uplink transmission and a previous uplink transmission, a second duration between the uplink transmission and a previous TA command received from the network, or both. In some examples, the determined TA value may be based on additional parameters, such as an autonomous adjustment step, an aggregate adjustment rate, a scaling factor, or any combination thereof.
