Disclosed are system and method for classifying an indoors location of a femtocell or femto node. In an aspect, the system and method are configured to perform, by a femto node, radio frequency (RF) measurements of one or more neighboring femtocells and macrocells; collect performance measurement reports from one or more mobile devices; classify the indoors location of the femto node based on the performed RF measurements and the collected performance measurement reports; and adjust one or more RF resources and parameters of the femto node based on the indoors location classification of the femto node.
Abstract:
Techniques and apparatus for enhancing transmission power limits and joint input power limits for transmissions from multiple antenna ports in compliance with radio frequency (RF) exposure limits are described. A method that may be performed by a wireless communication device includes receiving, from a network entity, an uplink grant scheduling an uplink transmission from a set of antennas. The uplink grant indicates a transmission mode for the uplink transmission. A respective transmission power limit is determined for each antenna in the set of antennas, based at least in part on the transmission mode and in compliance with an RF exposure limit. The uplink transmission is sent via the set of antennas according to the respective transmission power limits.

Techniques and apparatus for operating a wireless device pursuant to RF exposure compliance are provided. An example method generally includes: when an RFECS1 of the wireless device is in an online state, controlling, via the RFECS1, at least one of one or more first radios associated with a first RAT or one or more second radios associated with a second RAT, in compliance with an RF exposure limit and based on at least one of first RF exposure information associated with the one or more first radios or second RF exposure information associated with the one or more second radios; and when the RFECS1 is unavailable, controlling, via a second RF exposure control scheme, the one or more second radios associated with the second RAT in compliance with the RF exposure limit and based on third RF exposure information associated with the one or more second radios.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for operating a wireless device pursuant to radio frequency (RF) exposure compliance. A method that may be performed by a wireless device includes determining a transmit power associated with a transmission occasion and determining an energy usage associated with the transmission occasion based on the transmit power. The method also includes determining a total energy usage for a time window or a time interval associated with a RF exposure limit based on the energy usage associated with the transmission occasion. The method further includes transmitting a signal in the transmission occasion at the transmit power if the total energy usage satisfies an energy budget.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a sounding reference signal (SRS) to a base station using an SRS antenna switch (SRS-AS) or an SRS carrier switch (SRS-CS) transmission technique and the UE may feature multiple antenna groups that have separate exposure budgets due to their spatial separation. The UE may employ one or more accounting procedures for tracking energy contributions associated with the SRS across the multiple antenna groups of the UE and may employ one or more power control procedures for setting a transmit power for an uplink signal in accordance with the energy contributions associated with the SRS.

In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be a user equipment (UE). The apparatus receives configuration information for a sounding reference signal (SRS) transmission with one or more transmission reception points (TRPs), the configuration information assigning a comb value of greater than 4. The apparatus transmits, to the one or more TRPs, the SRS transmission using one of every N resource elements over a span of one or more resource blocks during a slot, where N is greater than 4.
