摘要: A method of video decoding performed in a video decoder is provided. A bit stream including syntax elements is received. The syntax elements correspond to coefficients of a region of a transform skipped block in a coded picture. The syntax elements include a first flag indicating whether an absolute coefficient level of one of the coefficients is greater than 0, and a second flag indicating a parity of the absolute coefficient level of the one of the coefficients. The second flag is decoded based on an equal probability model.

摘要: The disclosure provides a sample adaptive offset (SAO) encoder. The SAO encoder includes a statistics collection (SC) block and a rate distortion optimization (RDO) block coupled to the SC block. The SC block receives a set of deblocked pixels and a set of original pixels. The SC block categorizes each deblocked pixel of the set of deblocked pixels in at least one of a plurality of band and edge categories. The SC block estimates an error in each category as difference between a deblocked pixel of the set of deblocked pixels and corresponding original pixel of the set of original pixels. The RDO block determines a set of candidate offsets associated with each category and selects a candidate offset with a minimum RD cost. The minimum RD cost is used by a SAO type block and a decision block to generate final offsets for the SAO encoder.

In some examples, systems, methods, and computer-readable media can include obtaining a sequence of frames; determining, based on frame statistics associated with a first frame in the sequence of frames, a prediction structure for encoding the sequence of frames, the prediction structure defining an order in which frames in the sequence of frames are encoded and a prediction distance representing a maximum distance permitted between referencing frames and reference frames in the sequence of frames, and the frame statistics indicating an amount of motion in the first frame. The systems, methods, and computer-readable media can also include encoding one or more of the sequence of frames based on the prediction structure.

摘要: A deep learning based compression (DLBC) system applies trained models to compress binary code of an input image to a target codelength. For a set of binary codes representing the quantized coefficents of an input image, the DLBC system applies a first model that is trained to predict feature probabilities based on the context of each bit of the binary codes. The DLBC system compresses the binary code via adaptive arithmetic coding based on the determined probability of each bit. The compressed binary code represents a balance between a reconstruction quality of a reconstruction of the input image and a target compression ratio of the compressed binary code.

According to an aspect, there is provided a method of encoding visual data using a plurality of layers wherein each layer encodes a different representation, and wherein one or more of the plurality of layers comprises one or more hierarchical algorithms, the method comprising the steps of: extracting one or more samples within each of the plurality of layers; and processing within each layer the one or more samples extracted in the layer; wherein in at least one of the plurality of layers the step of processing comprises applying the one or more hierarchical algorithms to the samples extracted in the layer in relation to any inter-layer prediction; and wherein the step of processing reduces a predetermined mathematical distortion between samples of a first layer and samples of a second layer.

摘要: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for video encoding/decoding. In some examples, an apparatus for video decoding includes receiving circuitry and processing circuitry. The processing circuitry decodes prediction information of a current block in a current picture from a coded video bitstream. The prediction information is indicative of an affine based motion vector prediction. The processing circuitry determines a first affine model for the current block. The first affine model has first affine parameters. Then, the processing circuitry determines a second affine model for a first clipping region in the current block. The second affine model has second affine parameters with differences to the first affine parameters being smaller than a threshold. Motion vectors determined based on the second affine model satisfy a clipping requirement. The processing circuitry reconstructs a sample in the first clipping region based on the second affine model.
