    Abstract: An enhanced fuel delivery system having a fuel storage container for storing a quantity of liquid fuel and a vaporization vessel with an enclosed inner cavity having a central core structure with one or more openings and an inner core passage connected to a fuel line of a reciprocating engine, wherein liquid fuel is directed from the fuel storage container to the vaporization vessel and is drawn through the wicking material and converted into a vapor state where the fuel vapor is directed through the one or more openings to the inner core passage and out through the fuel line to be introduced into the combustion chamber of the reciprocating engine.

    Abstract: A control diaphragm for controlling fuel supply in a carburetor of an internal combustion engine includes a functional region enclosing a sensing region concentrically and a peripheral fastening border for fastening the control diaphragm in the diaphragm carburetor. The control diaphragm closes a control chamber of the diaphragm carburetor and is operatively connected via the central sensing region to a control lever in the control chamber and senses the axial deflection of the sensing region in a manner dependent on operation-induced pressure change in the control chamber. The control diaphragm consists in one piece of temperature-resistant and fuel-resistant, non-elastomeric plastic and the functional region is configured by way of a multiplicity of concentric corrugations. The outermost corrugation directly adjoins the fastening border, and the radius of the outermost corrugation corresponds substantially to the radius of the control chamber. The sensing region directly adjoins the innermost corrugation and the radius of the sensing region corresponds to from 5 to 25% of the outer radius of the functional region.

    Abstract: A control diaphragm for controlling a fuel feed in a diaphragm carburetor of an internal combustion engine, includes a central, substantially flat feeling region, a functional region circumferentially extending around the feeling region in a concentric manner, and a peripheral fastening border for fastening the control diaphragm. The control diaphragm closes off a control chamber of the diaphragm carburetor in a sealing manner in the installed state and is operatively connected by the central feeling region to a controlling lever of the diaphragm carburetor arranged in the control chamber, which controlling lever feels the axial deflection of the feeling region in accordance with an operating-related pressure change in the control chamber. The control diaphragm is composed of a temperature- and fuel-resistant, non-elastomeric and uniformly thick plastic film, in which a plurality of concentric corrugations forming the functional region are formed so that axial deflection of the feeling region progresses in dependence on the operating-related pressure change in the control chamber in accordance with a predefined displacement/pressure characteristic curve.

    Abstract: A carburetor may have a fuel metering assembly with a metering valve and a metering diaphragm sealed to a body of the carburetor to at least partially define a metering chamber with a portion of the metering diaphragm movable relative to the body to actuate a fuel metering valve. The diaphragm may include a continuous layer, a discontinuous layer, and an intermediate layer received at least partially between the continuous and discontinuous layers and at least partially inhibiting direct contact between the continuous and discontinuous layers. The continuous and discontinuous layers may be different polymer materials and the intermediate layer may be a polymer different than that of the discontinuous layer. The intermediate layer may include voids, segments, or a wire form.

    Abstract: An apparatus for adjusting the air-fuel ratio of a fuel mixture to be supplied to an engine. The apparatus has a pair of needle valve bodies and a pair of receptacles formed in a main body of a carburetor for receiving the needle valve bodies. Each needle valve body has a needle and a head. The needles are axially movable relative to a respective needle orifice. The needles may be axially advanced and retracted by rotating the needle valve bodies within the receptacles to respectively decrease and increase the flow of the fuel mixture around the needles and through the orifices. To prevent tampering with the needle valve body setting, the head of the needle valve body has an unconventional shape requiring a specialized tool to rotatably adjust the needle valve body. To further prevent tampering, the head is recessed with the main body of the carburetor. A retainer is disposed in the main body of the carburetor and receives the needle valve bodies to facilitate maintaining alignment of the needle valve bodies relative to the receptacles. The retainer assures that a constant fuel calibration setting is maintained through the orifices by resisting displacement of the needles due to such factors as external forces applied to the head of the needle valve body or engine vibration.
