    Abstract: A lid assembly comprising a lid portion and a frame portion, one said portion being adapted to receive the other portion to seal a container fitted with the lid assembly wherein the receiving portion has tamper-evident means connected thereto as a frangible bridge while the other portion has a hinged tab and wherein, in the untampered state, the frangible bridge is intact and prevents rotation of the hinged tab while, on breaking the frangible bridge, the hinged tab is able to rotate about its hinge, allowing opening of the lid.

    Abstract: A three-dimensional reusable plastic storage container is disclosed with an improved latching mechanism between the lid and container portion thereof. Biased latching mechanisms are disposed on opposing ends of the lid and are received in recesses disposed on opposing ends of the container, at the upper rim thereof. The disclosed latching mechanism is applicable to blow molded container with inverted upper rims as well as injection molded containers with external upper rims. The latching mechanisms do not interfere with the use of or the ergonomic design of handles disposed on the opposing ends of the container.

    Abstract: A clear package for enabling a packaged product to appear to be floating therein in an appealing and highly visible form. The package of the present invention comprises a sleeve having two pairs of opposing flat walls extending from a base, one pair being relatively thin and the other being relatively wide. At each end of each pair of relatively thin walls is an orifice. The package also comprises a pair of caps, one being placed on each end of the sleeve and comprising a pair of flat sides and a pair of convex, curved sides. On each flat side lies a protrusion having a triangular cross-section, corresponding to the orifice on each end of the sleeve. The package additionally comprises a support therein having an intermediate portion, which in turn has an indented envelope for holding the product. The placement of the caps on each end of sleeve enables the protrusions to engage with the corresponding orifices, thereby securing the support and the product therein, and causing the opposing wide walls to bow outwards. The manual pressing of the bowed walls causes the caps to disengage from the sleeve.

The second transition portion intersects the central region and slopes upward at a third acute angle from the first transition portion to the central region. The second acute angle is greater than the third acute angle. The transition region includes a plurality of spaced gussets interrupting the first and second transition portions.

    Abstract: An easily-opened container includes a container body with an opening portion and a lid cooperating with the opening portion. The lid has a central lid portion and a peripheral portion located outside this lid portion and sealingly and permanently fixed to the opening portion for closing the container. The central lid portion and the peripheral portion are separated from one another by a weakened portion which extends in the circumferential direction of the opening portion and at least partially around the opening portion. In a restricted region, the opening portion is provided with a recess located beneath the weakened portion. A stripping unit with fulcrum-effect is pivotally supported in a support region. The stripping device has a pull member and a pressure member, the latter abutting against the outer surface of the lid inside the weakened portion and above the recess in order, on lifting the pull member, to realize, by pressure against the above-mentioned region, material rupture in the weakened portion and thereby initiate opening of the container.
