Abstract:
The present invention relates to a dose setting and expelling device comprising a drive member and a dose setting mechanism which simultaneously sets a given dose and stores the energy necessary for a subsequently driving the drive member in order to expel a dose of medicine from an injection device. According to the invention the dose setting mechanism allows adjustment in both directions, such that a given set dose can be reduced or cancelled by reversing the input motion, typically by rotating a setting member backwardly, this in contrast to the known devices which either requires an additional release mechanism or which cannot be reversed at all.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an auto-injection device (100) repeatedly activateable for automatically expelling multiple set doses of a liquid drug. An activation button (190) protrudes from a proximal end of a housing (101) and is axially moveable between an activateable position and an activated position. The auto-injection device includes dose setting means comprising a dose setting device (170) that performs a helical movement away from a zero dose position during setting of a dose and returns by a helical movement to the zero dose position as the set dose is expelled. The dose setting device (170) is coupled to the activation button (190) to retain the activation button in the activated position when the dose setting device (170) assumes its zero dose position.

Abstract:
A device and method for protecting against needle sticks, including a needle protection sleeve for being coupled to an administering device to cover a needle associated with the administering device, wherein the sleeve can be moved against the force of a spring from an extended position to a retracted position and by the force of the spring from the retracted position to the extended position, the spring being carried on the needle protection sleeve.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a medicament delivery device comprising a housing arranged to receive a medicament container (20), a drive unit (25) arranged to act on a stopper (27) in said medicament container (20), which drive unit (25) comprises a torsion drive spring (50). A dose setting member (56) is operably connected to said drive unit (25) such that a manual turning of said dose setting member (56) causes a tensioning of said torsion drive spring (50). The device further comprises an activation mechanism (76) having an activation button (94) protruding through the distal end of the device, wherein said activation mechanism (76) is operably connected to said drive unit (25) such that actuation of said activation mechanism (76) causes a release of said drive unit (25) whereby a set dose of medicament is delivered.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a pen type drug injection device (1; 101) comprising a housing (4, 5; 104, 105), a dose dial member (6; 106), a torsion spring (12; 112) fixed between the housing and the dial member such that energy is accumulated in the torsion spring upon rotation of the dial member relative to the housing, a drive member (8; 108) engaging a lead screw (9; 109), a first clutch (18; 118) rotationally coupling the drive member (8; 108) and the housing in a coupled state and allowing relative rotation between the drive member and the housing in a de-coupled state, and a second clutch (19; 119) rotationally coupling the drive member and the dial member in a coupled state and allowing relative clockwise and anti-clockwise rotation between the drive member and the dial member in a de-coupled state. The second clutch comprises a ratchet clicker with teeth (19a, 19b; 119a, 119b) having in the clockwise and the anti-clockwise direction different ramped tooth angles such that the teeth are allowed to override each other in the de-coupled state of the second clutch with a different resistance in the clockwise and the anti-clockwise direction, such that a dose can be set and also corrected by the user thereby tensioning respectively relaxing the torsion spring.
Abstract:
A substance delivery device (autoinjector) for use with a container (such as a syringe) containing the substance includes: a body arranged to house or hold the container; a plunger which is movable with respect to at least a portion of the body, the plunger being arranged to act upon the container so as to move the container with respect to the portion of the body; wherein the plunger is also arranged to expel at least a portion of the substance from the container; and wherein the device includes elements for adjusting the amount of substance to be expelled from the container. The device can also have elements for priming the container, and can accommodate containers of different size or shape.
Abstract:
A dual-chambered drug delivery device, comprising a cartridge having a first chamber for storing a medicament, a second chamber in fluid communication with said first chamber, a dose setting member for setting a medicament dose to be injected at an injection site, a piston disposed in said second chamber, an upward stroke of said piston drawing a portion of the medicament dose into said second chamber and a downward stroke of said piston expelling the portion of the medicament dose, a needle communicating with said second chamber for sequentially injecting portions of the medicament dose into the injection site, a drive screw movably connected to said dose setting member such that rotation of said dose setting member moves said drive screw upwardly, and a rack movably connected to said drive screw such that downward movement of said drive screw during the medicament dose injection rotates said rack.
Abstract:
A drive mechanism for a delivery device is presented. The drive mechanism comprises a housing (24) and a piston rod (6) having a longitudinal axis (x) and a piston rod feature (17). The drive mechanism further comprises a drive member (1) being movable with respect to the housing (24). The drive member (1) comprises a drive feature (15). The drive feature (15) is selectively engageable with the piston rod feature (17) by the radial displacement of the drive member (1) with respect to the piston rod (6). When the drive member (1) is in the first position, the drive member (1) is disengaged from the piston rod (6), and when the drive member (1) is in the second position, the drive feature (15) is engaged with the piston rod feature (17). When the drive member (1) moves distally with respect to the housing (24), said distal movement is transferred to the piston rod (6) such that the piston rod (6) moves distally with respect to the housing (24).
