Abstract: A hemostatic forceps for an endoscope has a support section for supporting the pair of clamp pieces and so that they can rotate and change their distal parts direction. The pair of clamp pieces and are formed in tapered shape so that widths of the pair of clamp pieces gradually decrease in a direction from a side of the support section to a side of the distal parts. Length of the pair of clamp pieces at arbitrary location along the direction from a side of the support section to the distal sides, times the width of the pair of clamp pieces at the same location, is set to be substantially constant.

Abstract: Disclosed is a medical clamp for safely and correctly reducing a fractured bone without any wound on the skin of the opposite side of the fractured region when the fractured bone is reduced. The medical clamp includes: two clamp members having handle loops formed on a side thereof and forceps portions sharply formed on the opposite side thereof; and a pin for rotatably coupling the two clamp members with each other. The medical clamp further includes: a coupling ball formed on the tip of one of the forceps portions; a pad having a curved contact surface to be in close contact with a patient's skin, a coupling hole and a slide slot vertically formed in the opposite side of the contact surface and communicating with each other, the coupling hole and the slide slot respectively corresponding to the forceps portion and the coupling ball, and a tapered rotation hole formed in the center of the slide slot.

Abstract: The invention provides a tissue manipulation system including a tethered clamp, a clamp applicator for positioning the clamp through a trocar sleeve and applying the clamp to a tissue location in the abdominal cavity, and a rigid positioning shaft for engaging the clamp and/or tether to manipulate the clamp. In a further embodiment, the tissue manipulation system includes an introducer through which the tether can be withdrawn from the abdominal cavity and a retainer attached to the proximal end of the introducer for clamping the tether in position. The tissue manipulation system further includes an obturator for inserting the introducer into the abdomen, and a tether snare for retrieving the tether and withdrawing it through the introducer.

Abstract: An electrosurgical loop comprising an insulated shaft with an electrical contact at its proximate end and a pair of extending insulated prongs at its distal end. The extending prongs are configured to give the loop a "Y" shape and each end of a thin wire are connected to each prong to provide a wire loop. Disposed over the shaft in longitudinal sliding engagement is a depth gauge comprising a clasp, a longitudinal intermediate portion, and a transverse cross bar. The clasp may be retrofit to an existing electrosurgical loop and permits the removal of the depth gauge from the loop, if desired. The transverse cross bar is wider than the breadth of the wire loop and has a transverse slot oriented in the same plane as the wire loop through which the wire loop passes as the depth gauge is adjusted for various cutting depths. Disposed on the insulated shaft are markings serving as depth indicators to which the depth gauge may be moved slidably to effect cut depth control for the loop. The loop may be constructed by punching a series of shaft blanks from a conductive metal stock, and rolling the electrical contact prior to applying the insulation. Also, prior to applying the insulation, the wire loop can be connected to the shaft blank to maintain the flow of electrical current through the shaft into the wire loop.

Abstract: A one-piece molded plastic clamp provided with a guiding lug for engaging a channel to prevent twisting of the arms of the clamp as they are compressed, while simultaneously enabling the clamp to be molded in a simple, clam-shell mold. Abstract: An end-effector and a surgical instrument including the end-effector are disclosed. The end-effector includes a clamp arm and an ultrasonic blade configured to acoustically couple to an ultrasonic transducer and to electrically couple to a pole of an electrical generator. Abstract: The dual bone forceps may be considered tandem locking forceps wherein the forceps are coupled to each other so that the surgeon may use one for clamping the bone graft plate adjacent the graft site while clamping the other forceps to a supporting bone structure above, below, or lateral to the graft site during the procedure. The dual bone forceps includes a bone graft plate clamping forceps having clamping jaws at the anterior end and flat handles terminating in locking jaws at the posterior end. The dual bone forceps also includes an anchoring forceps having an elongate hook blade and a shortened anvil blade at the anterior end and locking handles at the posterior end. A linking bar extends non-coplanar from the shortened anvil blade to the pivot of the bone graft plate clamping forceps to maintain the two forceps linked to each other, but spaced apart in different planes.
