    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide for the transmission of a cell identifier of a serving cell to a user equipment (UE). A Physical Cell Identification Channel (PCICH) is defined for carrying the cell identifier of the serving cell within an uplink-based mobility framework. In some examples, the PCICH may be transmitted in response to a trigger event that requires the user equipment to have knowledge of the cell identifier. For example, the UE may require the cell identifier to demodulate signals received from the serving cell and facilitate transmission and/or reception of user data traffic with the serving cell.

    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide a scalable SIB bitmap structure. As described herein, a UE may generate and transmit, to an access network, a dual-layer system information block (SIB) request, wherein a first layer indicates a SIB category and a second layer indicates one or more groups within the SIB category. A base station in an access network may receive, from a UE, the dual-layer SIB request. The scalable, efficient bitmap structure may be shared by the UE and access network, thereby enabling SIB-on-Demand requests by the UE and responses to SIB-on-Demand requests by the access network.

    Abstract: Systems and methods herein create unified synchronization to support various network deployments in which multiple UE states (e.g., idle, connected, etc) and multiple synchronization signal periodicities (5 ms, 20 ms, etc.) and standalone/non-standalone networks may exist. Unified synchronization may be achieved at least by designating transmit frames as being even or odd. With such a designation, when a network transmits synchronization signals (SS) comprising the most significant bits (MSB)s of a frame's system frame number (SFN), a UE of any state may receive the SS according to any periodicity and blind decode the SFN's least significant bits (LSBs) with less complexity as compared to traditional systems and methods due at least to the even or odd frame designations.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that provide for synchronization signal (SS) blocks in which synchronization signals and broadcast channel transmissions may be transmitted. Broadcast channel transmissions may be demodulated using SS transmissions, reference signal transmissions, or combinations thereof. Broadcast channel transmissions may be transmitted in a subset of SS block time resources, and synchronization signals may be transmitted in another subset of SS block time resources. Reference signals may be transmitted using tones within the broadcast channel time resources, and may be transmitted at a higher density for portions of the broadcast channel transmission bandwidth that are outside of the SS transmission bandwidth. Waveforms for reference signal transmissions, and information provided by reference signal transmissions may be provided.

    Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. A method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) includes receiving an indication of at least one receive capability of a network access device; transmitting a first message of a random access channel (RACH) procedure; receiving a random access response (RAR) message in response to transmitting the first message; and interpreting the RAR message according to a format based at least in part on the received indication. A method for wireless communication at a network access device includes transmitting an indication of at least one receive capability of the network access device; receiving, from a UE, a first message of a RACH procedure; and transmitting a RAR message to the UE in response to receiving the first message. The RAR message has a format based at least in part on the at least one receive capability of the network access device.
