Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for allocating a total power budget among a plurality of components of a user device are provided. The apparatus prioritizes the plurality of components based on a user experience model (performance/power model) for each of the plurality of components. The user experience model (performance/power model) of a component includes a measure of component attribute as a function of component power consumption. The apparatus allocates portions of the total power budget among the user-device components based on priority established by the user experience model. The apparatus may further prioritize the components based on weights assigned to the components.

Abstract: Neural network workload re-allocation in a system-on-chip having multiple heterogenous processors executing one or more neural network units may be based on measurements associated with the processors' conditions and on metadata associated with the neural network units. Metadata may be contained in an input file along with neural network information. Measurements characterizing operation of the processors may be obtained and compared with one or more thresholds. A neural network unit executing on a processor may be identified as a candidate for re-allocation based on metadata associated with the neural network unit and results of the comparisons. A target processor may be identified based on the metadata and results of the comparisons, and the candidate neural network neural network unit may be re-allocated to the target processor.

Further embodiments include receiving an indication of a speed of the moving device, determining a target operating frequency for the processing system compatible with the indicated speed of the moving device, and changing an operating frequency of the processing system to the target operating frequency.

Abstract: A low-power state current/power consumption for each volatile memory device in a plurality of volatile memory devices is obtained. Data is copied from a first set of the volatile memory devices to a second set of the volatile memory devices, where the second set of volatile memory devices has a lower current/power consumption than the first set of volatile memory devices. Additionally, a current/power consumption may be obtained for each memory bank within each of the plurality of volatile memory devices. Data is then copied from a first set of memory banks to a second set of memory banks within the same memory device in the second set of memory devices, where the second set of memory banks has lower current/power consumption than the first set of memory banks. The first set of volatile memory devices and/or first set of memory banks are then placed into a power-down state.

Abstract: Systems and methods for forecasting behavior of caches include a hypothetical cache. The hypothetical cache is configured to emulate cache behavior, and performance metrics for the hypothetical cache are determined, where the performance metrics may be based on cache hits/misses. Performance metrics for a real cache of a processor core of a processing system may also be similarly determined. Behavior of the real cache is forecast based, at least, on performance metrics of the hypothetical cache, and in some cases, also on performance metrics of the real cache (e.g., based on a comparison of the performance metrics). Actions may be recommended and/or performed based on the forecast, where the actions include modifying the real cache size, associativity, or allocation for processor cores, migrating a task running in one processor cluster to another processor cluster, or for collecting data for the real cache for offline analysis.
