Abstract: In a device to device (D2D) communication scenario such as vehicle to anything (V2X) communications, channel access of a device such as a user equipment (UE) may not be controlled by network devices. Using the disclosed channel access mechanism, a device may autonomously access a channel for transportation related communications. A device may determine to transmit a data packet in a portion of bandwidth. The device may select a listen before talk counter defining a time period to wait before beginning a transmission of the data packet. The device may sense the portion of bandwidth during the time period for transmissions of other UEs occupying frequency resource blocks within the portion of bandwidth. The device may select unoccupied frequency resource blocks within the portion of bandwidth based on the sensing. The device may transmit the data packet on the unoccupied frequency resource blocks after the period of time.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide a method for wireless communications by a peer device. The method generates control information to schedule peer-to-peer communication. The control information includes a first portion with a first set of data and a second portion with a second set of data. The method then transmits the first portion of the control information in a first stage using first time and frequency resources. The first portion indicates a control information format of the second portion. The method further transmits the second portion of the control information in a second stage using second time and frequency resources and the indicated control information format.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and devices for communication which may include a transmitting device and at least one receiving device. In one aspect, the transmitting device may determine a transmission configuration including one or more aggregated transmission intervals for communicating with the receiving device. The transmitting device may also indicate the transmission configuration to the receiving device. Additionally, the transmitting device can transmit at least one data packet to the receiving device based on the transmission configuration. Further, the transmission configuration can indicate a number of the one or more aggregated transmission intervals. In some aspects, the receiving device can determine a number of aggregated transmission intervals based on the indication. The receiving device can also decode the data packet based on the number of aggregated transmission intervals.

Abstract: The described techniques may allow transmitting devices to adjust transmission parameters (e.g., transmit power, modulation and coding scheme (MCS)), until reaching an optimal power and/or MCS. These techniques may allow devices to use power efficiently and reduce inter-device interference in a vehicle-to-everything sidelink system. For example, a transmitting device may begin transmissions to a receiving device with initial transmission parameters, which may be configured using a transmission priority and a channel busy ratio. The transmitting device may lower power and/or increase MCS in each of its subsequent transmissions of the same priority, until the receiving device transmits a feedback message that indicates a low signal quality or a failure to decode a previous transmission. The transmitting device may then increase its transmit power and/or decrease its MCS to an acceptable level for a specified time duration based on receiving the feedback message.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first device may identify that a first set of transmission resources in a transmission time interval (TTI) has a higher priority at a second device than a second set of transmission resources in the TTI. The first device may identify that a message is to be transmitted from the first device to the second device via the TTI and process the message into a bit sequence based on the identification of the second set of transmission resources in the TTI, where the processing increases a likelihood that systematic bits of the message are received at the second device despite presence of the second set of transmission resources in the TTI. The first device may transmit the bit sequence to the second device via the TTI.

Examples may include a receiving wireless device located in a first geographic zone receiving multiple signals from one or more transmitting wireless devices. The receiving wireless device may determine based on the received signals that the one or more transmitting devices are located in a second geographic zone. The receiving wireless device may determine configured transmit power information for each of the signals received from the transmitting wireless devices located in the second geographic zone. The receiving wireless device may estimate a path loss of wireless communications between the first geographic zone and the second geographic zone based on the configured transmit powers received in the signals. The receiving wireless device may communicate within the second geographic location based on the estimated path loss between the first geographic region and the second geographic region.

Abstract: Methods and systems for wireless communication are disclosed. In one aspect, a method includes generating device specific transmission control information for each of two devices, transmitting the transmission control information for each device over different frequencies, and transmitting data to each of the devices as part of a communication according to the respective transmission control information. In some aspects, the transmission control information for each device is encoded based on an identifier of the device. For example, in some aspects, an error detection value such as a cyclic redundancy check, is exclusive or'ed with an identifier of the device, such as an AID, PAID, or group identifier. The resulting value is transmitted along with the transmission control information. A device receiving the wireless frame may only be able to decode its own transmission control information, as the decoding is also based on the receiving device's identifier.

Abstract: The disclosure provides for reducing uplink control channel overhead at a user equipment (UE). The UE may determine that a total transmit power of the UE exceeds an allocated power. The UE may then scale a transmit power of a high-speed dedicated physical control channel (HS-DPCCH) relative to a dedicated physical control channel (DPCCH) in response to the determination that the UE is power limited. The UE may scale the transmit power of the HS-DPCCH when there is no downlink activity as determined, for example, by expiration of a timer. In an aspect, the UE may transmit an indication that the UE is power limited, for example, by using a most-significant bit of a transport format combination index. In another aspect, the UE may receive an indication that a downlink transmission is imminent and, in response, the UE may transmit the HS-DPCCH without scaling its corresponding transmit power.
