Abstract:
One embodiment of the invention comprises an improved method for making a via structure for use in a printed circuit board (PCB). The via allows for the passage of a signal from one signal plane to another in the (PCB), and in so doing transgresses the power and ground planes between the signal plane. To minimize EM disturbance between the power and ground planes, signal loss due to signal return current, and via-to-via coupling, the via is shielded within two concentric cylinders, each coupled to one of the power and ground planes.
Abstract:
Methods for forming nanoparticles under commercially attractive conditions. The nanoparticles can have very small size and high degree of monodispersity. Low temperature sintering is possible, and highly conductive films can be made. Semiconducting and electroluminescent films can be also made. One embodiment provides a method comprising: (a) providing a first mixture comprising at least one nanoparticle precursor and at least one first solvent for the nanoparticle precursor, wherein the nanoparticle precursor comprises a salt comprising a cation comprising a metal; (b) providing a second mixture comprising at least one reactive moiety reactive for the nanoparticle precursor and at least one second solvent for the reactive moiety, wherein the second solvent phase separates when it is mixed with the first solvent; and (c) combining said first and second mixtures in the presence of a surface stabilizing agent, wherein upon combination the first and second mixtures phase-separate and nanoparticles are formed.
Abstract:
An apparatus for modifying one or more physical attributes and properties of a graphical element and transferring these physical attributes and properties to a graphical object for usage in an animation may include a processor and a memory storing executable computer program code that cause the apparatus to at least perform operations including receiving a selection of a physical attribute(s) among a plurality of physical attributes and adjusting an intensity associated with the selected physical attribute. The computer program code may further cause the apparatus to assign the physical attribute to a graphical element(s) and modify one or more physical properties of the graphical element based on the selected physical attribute and the adjusted intensity. The computer program code may further cause the apparatus to transfer the modified physical properties of the graphical element to a graphical object. A corresponding method and computer program product are also provided.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses the functional epitope of osteopontin; the anti-osteopontin monoclonal antibody and immune conjugate raising against the functional epitope and their use for preparing anti-tumor drug. The present invention also discloses the DNA sequence encoding the monoclonal antibody, the vector and host cell containing the DNA sequence. The monoclonal antibody and immune conjugate of present invention can also be used to detect OPN. Through inhibiting OPN, the monoclonal antibody or immune conjugate of present invention can remedy or respite autoimmune diseases and protect correlative tissues, so they can be used to remedy autoimmune diseases.
Abstract:
A method for capturing an image may include receiving a start command, determining whether one or more predefined conditions are satisfied, and capturing an image when the predefined conditions are satisfied. The start command and/or the predefined conditions may be dependent on an audible signal. The predefined conditions may include predetermined reception angles of the audible signal, ratios of foreground to background, and/or reception of a remote control signal. The method may also require that no visual feature is occluded. Individualized feedback may be provided which can direct a specific person within an image to correct a failed predefined condition. An apparatus and computer program product corresponding to the method are also provided.
Abstract:
Methods of prolonging survival of allotransplanted cells, tissues or organs are presented. These methods are directed to administering to the allograft recipient an inhibitor of complement activity together with one or more immunosuppressants and/or immunosuppressive methods. The inhibitor of complement activity is administered chronically. These methods have been determined to aid in preventing chronic rejection of allografts. These methods can additionally be used in cases in which the recipient has been presensitized to the allograft or in which there is an ABO mismatch between the allograft and the recipient.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a performance management system, apparatus and method between a Residential Gateway (RG) and a Broadband Remote Access Server (BRAS), the method thereof includes: configuring an OAM IWF for the protocol conversion between the performance management message of the Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) Operation, Administration and Maintenance (OAM) protocol or the point-to-point Ethernet OAM protocol and the performance management message of the service layer Ethernet OAM protocol in a Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer (DSLAM), when the performance management is performed in a broadband IP network, after the OAM IWF configured in the DSLAM performing the protocol conversion of performance management message, performing the end-to-end performance management between an RG and a BRAS according to the performance management message with the converted protocol. This invention can not only enhance the accuracy of the statistics of the traffic flow, but also enhance the accuracy of the SLA test.
Abstract:
An automatic system for spyware detection and signature generation compares packets of output from a computer in response to standard user inputs, to packets of a standard output set derived from a known clean machine. Differences between these two packet sets are analyzed with respect to whether they relate to unknown web servers and whether they incorporate user-derived information. This analysis is used to provide an automatic detection of and signature generation for spyware infecting the machine.
Abstract:
The present invention belongs to pharmaceutical field. It relates to a novel family of bivalent (−)-meptazinol compounds and/or their salts, as well as the preparation and utilization of the compounds in the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders and dementias such as Alzheimer's Disease (AD). In the present invention, bivalent (−)-meptazinol compounds were synthesized, from the starting material (−)-meptazinol, successively by N-demethylation forming (−)-nor-meptazinol and then by acylation with α,ω-alkanediacyl dihalides or alkylation with α,ω-dihaloalkanes. Results from in vitro cholinesterase inhibiting test and AChE-induced Aβ aggregation test demonstrated that the bivalent (−)-meptazinol compounds and/or their salts were novel bivalent inhibitors of both ACHE and Aβ aggregation. The most potent compound inhibited both ACHE and BCHE at nM level, which was 10000 and 1500 times more potent than (−)-MEP hydrochloride, respectively. It inhibited ACHE-induced Aβ aggregation by a factor of 2 compared with propidium.
Abstract:
The present disclosure discloses a method, system and apparatus for storing and querying session history records. The method for storing session history records includes: receiving a request from the first server at the user side; judging whether the request carries a storage indication; if the request carries a storage indication, judging whether to store the session history records to be saved according to the storage policy. In the embodiments of the present disclosure, the storing of the session history records is managed uniformly, and the history record information of a session is stored only in the corresponding storage apparatus at the second server side rather than being stored in the network storage apparatus at each first server side, thus overcoming the defects of the prior art, namely, waste of network storage space and redundancy of stored information.
