摘要: A peripheral device for establishing a network connection with a gateway is disclosed, and includes a request module and a configuration logic. The request module sends a request for identification and receives an authenticator responsive to sending the request for identification. The authenticator includes data indicative of predefined settings of the gateway. The configuration logic is in data communication with a plurality of configurations stored within a memory of the peripheral device. In response to receiving the predefined settings from the request module, the configuration logic selects a specific configuration from the plurality of configurations, where the specific configuration defines a set of attributes that correspond to the predefined settings of the gateway. The configuration logic also activates the specific configuration once the specific configuration has been selected. The configuration logic also establishes a network connection with the gateway based on a wireless communication protocol.

摘要: A dimmer circuit for at least one LED is disclosed. The LED is controlled by a TRIAC dimmer. A leakage current flows through the TRIAC dimmer if the TRIAC dimmer is off. The dimmer circuit include inputs for receiving a source of incoming AC power, a rectifier for receiving the source of incoming AC power and producing a DC voltage, a controller for receiving the DC voltage from the rectifier and providing a switching signal, a first circuit, and a loading circuit. The first circuit receives the switching signal from the controller. The first circuit includes a first switching element that is selectively activated based on the switching signal. The loading circuit receives the switching signal from the controller. The loading circuit includes a second switching element that is activated if the first switching element is deactivated. The loading circuit selectively provides a minimum loading current.

摘要: A driver circuit for delivering a generally constant voltage to a load is disclosed. The driver circuit includes a source of incoming AC power, a rectifier, and a constant voltage driver. The rectifier is connected to the source of incoming AC power and produces a DC voltage. The constant voltage driver receives the DC voltage from the rectifier. The constant voltage driver includes a selectively activated switching element for receiving the DC voltage, a controller, and an output line. The controller receives the DC voltage and is configured to send a drive signal to the switching element in order to activate the switching element. The output line provides the generally constant voltage to the load.

摘要: A method for compensating NCO jitter by changing a step value used to increment an accumulator in the NCO to make up for inaccuracies, or jitters. In one approach, a remainder in the accumulator may be monitored and a compensated clock close to the current edge of an ideal clock may be generated. In another approach, a compensated clock close to the next edge of the ideal clock may be generated after the current edge of the ideal clock is missed. The step value may be stored in a memory, which may be a register. A jitter compensator may include a comparator for monitoring the remainder in the accumulator or a detector for detecting whether an ideal clock has been missed. The jitter compensator may also change the step value to a step value for a faster clock to compensate jitter.

摘要: Systems and methods are disclosed that facilitate sensing a pulse in a ballast circuit for a lamp when the lamp is in an end-of-life (EOL) stage or when the lamp is experiencing an arcing conduction condition, such as may occur when a contact between the lamp and its holder is compromised. Upon sensing the pulse, a microcontroller may distinguish between EOL and arcing conditions based on detected pulse width(s), and may initiate an appropriate response. For instance, if the pulse is due to an arcing event, the microcontroller may interrupt lamp operation for a brief period before restarting the lamp to mitigate the arcing condition. If the pulse is caused by an EOL condition, the microcontroller may place the lamp in a preheat or restarting mode to hasten lamp failure. In either case, responses to the sensed pulse mitigate the occurrence of dangerously high lamp temperatures that may damage lamp sockets.

摘要: In a current fed electronic ballast multiple lamps are operated in a parallel circuit arrangement. The ballast provides pre-heating to the cathodes of the lamps for a period of time before an open circuit voltage is ramped up to the preferred starting voltage of the lamps. An open circuit voltage controller times coordinates the pre-heating and the operating voltage. After the pre-heating phase, current is removed from the cathodes of the lamps so that electricity is not wasted to the cathodes while the lamps are lit. A single switch is used to switch cathode pre-heating on and off, regardless of how many lamps the ballast operates. A decoupling array of diodes allows the single switch to coordinate pre-heating to all the lamps.
