    摘要: A water-in-oil coating composition comprising a water phase emulsified in a nonaqueous liquid phase, wherein the non-aqueous phase comprises one or more binders including an autoxidizable binder, characterized in that: i. the composition has a solids content (SC) in the range of from 5 to 50 wt % based on the total weight of the composition; ii. the composition has a water content (WC) in the range of from 40 to 90 wt % based on the total weight of the composition; iii. the one or more binders have a mass-average molecular mass (Mw) expressed in gram/mole, as determined in accordance with GPC ISO 6014-1; and iv. the solids content of the composition, the water content of the composition and the mass-average molecular mass of the autoxidizable binder are such that value A is at most 130, wherein value A is defined as: A=[(Mw/1400)+(1.7×SC)+WC] wherein Mw is expressed in gram/mole and SC and WC are each expressed in wt %.

    摘要: The disclosure relates to a method of applying a coating to an external surface of a man-made object to be at least partly immersed in water (e.g. a vessel or an offshore drilling station) for a time period wherein there is relative movement between the immersed object and the water. The applied coating has a minimal resistance rating for a set of coatings. The method comprises a computer-implemented coating selection process, which comprises a first steps of obtaining, for each coating in the set of coatings, a total roughness value of the external surface based on a fouling roughness value, a macro roughness value and a micro roughness value associated with each coating. The coating selection process comprises in a second step selecting a coating from the set of coatings, wherein the selected coating has a minimal resistance rating associated with the obtained total roughness value for the time period. The method further comprises applying the selected coating to the external surface of the man-made object.

    摘要: The present invention provides a hybrid polyester-fluorocarbon powder coating composition which is a dry blend of a polyester powder coating composition A and a fluorocarbon powder coating composition B, wherein: —polyester powder coating composition A comprises a first polyester polymer and a curing agent for the first polyester polymer; and —fluorocarbon powder coating composition B comprises a fluorocarbon polymer, a curing agent for the fluorocarbon polymer, and a second polyester polymer and a curing agent for the second polyester polymer; wherein the weight ratio of polyester powder coating composition A and fluorocarbon powder coating composition B is in the range of from 25:75 to 75:25, wherein the first polyester polymer is a carboxyl functional polymer having an acid value in the range from 18 to 70 mg KOH/g polymer and wherein the second polyester polymer is a hydroxyl functional polyester polymer having a hydroxyl value in the range of from 70 to 350 mg KOH/g polymer. The invention further provides to a method for coating a substrate with such hybrid polyester-fluorocarbon powder coating composition.

    摘要: The invention relates to a water-based coating composition for heat insulating building surfaces, the coating composition comprising in the range of from 55 to 90 vol %, preferably of from 60 to 80 vol % hollow microspheres, in the range of from 1 to 30 wt % of a dispersed acrylic binder polymer, in the range of from 0.1 to 3 wt % of a thickener, in the range of from 40 to 80 wt % water; and in the range of from 0.05 to 5 wt % of additives selected from the group consisting of biocides, anti-foaming agents, surfactants, dispersants, and combinations of two or more thereof, wherein the coating composition is substantially free of non-hollow mineral and metallic fillers and is substantially free of hydraulic binders, and wherein the coating composition has a density of less than 500 kg/m3. The invention further relates to a method for applying such coating composition by using a notched trowel for applying a ridged coating layer and a non-woven sheet of glass fiber to smoothen such layer; and to a kit of parts comprising such coating composition, a non-woven sheet of glass fiber, and a notched trowel.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a process for repairing a coating film by applying an adhesion primer comprising a hydroxy-functional (meth)acrylate resin, a hydroxy-functional epoxy resin, a polyisocyanate, and an epoxy-functional organosilane directly to a substrate that is a substrate body with an original coating that has defects, to form an adhesion-promoting film and, applying at least one further layer of coating to the resultant adhesion-promoting film. The invention further relates to the use of the adhesion primer to improve the adherence of a further coating layer to such substrate, preferably to a substrate with a substrate body of glass fiber-reinforced unsaturated polyester resin, of glass fiber-reinforced epoxy resin, or of glass fiber-reinforced vinyl ester resin, wherein the further coating layer preferably is a polyurethane-based coating. The present invention further relates to a substrate coated with a coating film that has been repaired according to such a process.
