摘要: The invention relates to a tie-coat composition comprising one or more binder polymers obtainable by copolymerizing a mixture of ethylenically unsaturated monomers, the one or more binder polymers comprising pendant curable alkoxysilyl functional groups of general formula (I) —X-L-Si(R1)n(OR2)(3-n) (I) wherein L is a hydrocarbon linker group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, X is a heteroatom other than a sulphur atom, n is 0, 1, or 2; R1 is an alkyl radical with 1 to 20 carbon atoms, R2 is an alkyl radical with 1 to 20 carbon atoms or an alkylalkoxy radical with 2 to 20 carbon atoms, wherein in at least 5 mole % of the curable alkoxysilyl functional groups comprised in the one or more binder polymers the hydrocarbon linker group L is a methyldiyl group (L1) and in at least 5 mole % of the curable alkoxysilyl functional groups comprised in the one or more binder polymers the hydrocarbon linker group L is a hydrocarbon group having 2 to 20 carbon atoms (L2), wherein the tie-coat composition does not comprise a crosslinking agent. The invention further relates to a process for controlling aquatic fouling on a surface of a man-made object comprising applying such tie-coat composition and a topcoat composition, and to a substrate coated with a tie-coat layer deposited from such tie-coat composition and a topcoat layer.

摘要: The embodiments herein relate to a non-aqueous liquid foul release coating composition and process for controlling aqueous biofouling on man-made objects, including a curable resin system (A) comprising i) a curable polymer free of fluorine atoms and having a backbone selected from a polyurethane, a polyether, a polyester, a polycarbonate or a hybrid of two or more thereof, and having at least one terminal or pendant alkoxysilyl group and ii) optionally a curing agent and/or a catalyst; and (B) a marine biocide and/or a non-curable, non-volatile compound is selected from the group consisting of fluorinated polymers, sterols and sterol derivatives, and hydrophilic-modified polysiloxane oils, wherein the coating composition is essentially free of a curable polysiloxane, and wherein the coating composition is essentially free of non-curable polysiloxanes other than non-curable hydrophilic-modified polysiloxane oils.

The substrate can include a topcoat layer applied to the tie-coat layer, and deposited from a non-aqueous liquid foul release coating composition including a curable resin system including i) a curable polymer and optionally ii) a curing agent and/or a catalyst, where the non-aqueous liquid foul release coating composition is essentially free of a curable polysiloxane.

摘要: The invention relates to a coating composition comprising a) seawater-hydrolyzable groups covalently linked to a polymer backbone, which seawater-hydrolyzable groups are capable of undergoing hydrolysis or ion-exchange when exposed to sea-water, rendering the polymer partially soluble or dispersible in seawater, and b) zwitterionic groups covalently linked to a polymer backbone wherein the polymer backbones to which the sea-water-hydrolyzable groups and the zwitterionic groups are attached serve as a film-forming binder in the coating composition, and wherein the molar ratio of the seawater-hydrolyzable groups a) to the zwitterionic groups b) is 0.1 or higher.
