Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first user equipment (UE) may determine whether to transmit a sidelink timing synchronization signal to a second UE based at least in part on a sidelink zone in which the first UE is located and a sidelink zone in which the second UE is located. The first UE may selectively transmit the sidelink timing synchronization signal to the second UE based at least in part on determining whether to transmit the sidelink timing synchronization signal to the second UE. Abstract: Using a modulation and coding scheme for a control channel that is more conservative than needed to fulfill the control function may waste resources. To address this issue, a variable size control channel is provided. An apparatus in such a system may be configured to determine an aggregation level of a plurality of aggregation levels associated with a control channel. Each aggregation level of the plurality of aggregation levels is associated with a number of time-frequency resources dedicated for the control channel and a particular modulation and coding scheme used for modulating and coding control information in the control channel. The apparatus is configured to receive control information in the time-frequency resources associated with the aggregation level and decode the control information received in the time-frequency resources associated with the determined aggregation level. The decoding is based on the particular modulation and coding scheme associated with the determined aggregation level.

In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) participating in a sidelink communications group increments a transmit counter for each packet transmitted by the first UE as part of group communications among the sidelink communications group, increments a receive counter for each packet received by the first UE from a second UE participating in the the sidelink communications group as part of group communications among the sidelink communications group; and transmits the transmit counter and the receive counter to a network node based on a configuration received from the network node.

Abstract: Embodiments include systems and methods for sidelink communications. In embodiments, a processor of a wireless device may determine signal strength information and priority information associated with a sidelink communication resource. The processor may determine coordination information based on the determined signal strength information and priority information. The processor may generate a message to include the determined coordination information. The processor may transmit the generated message including the determined coordination information to a second wireless device. In some embodiments, the generated message may be a control message, such as a medium access control control-element (MAC-CE) or a sidelink control information message.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable mediums for wireless communication are disclosed by the present disclosure. In an example, a host wireless device may transmit a discovery message to a client wireless device. The client wireless device may transmit a random access channel (RACH) preamble on a first time domain resource to the host wireless device in response to the discovery message. The client wireless device may later transmit a second RACH message to the host device on a second time domain resource after the first time domain resource. The second time domain resource may be defined by a mapping from the first time domain resource. The host device may transmit a third RACH message establishing a communication session between the host wireless device and the client wireless device.

Abstract: Aspects relate to mechanisms for a base station to provide sidelink synchronization assistance to a plurality of user equipment (UEs). The base station may be configured to identify a detection time window that includes a sidelink synchronization resource configured for transmission of a sidelink synchronization signal on a sidelink carrier. The base station may further be configured to transmit an indication of the detection time window to the plurality UEs on a cellular carrier to enable the UEs to detect a sidelink synchronization signal on the sidelink carrier within the detection time window and synchronize communication on the sidelink carrier.
