Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication. In one method, at least a first carrier may be monitored for an indication of a clear channel assessment (CCA) for a second carrier in a shared spectrum, and communication may take place using the second carrier based on the indication. In another method, a CCA may be performed for a second carrier second carrier of a shared spectrum, and an indication of the CCA for the second carrier may be transmitted on a first carrier.

Abstract: Provided is a method for wireless communication which includes transmitting codewords according to an initial transmission rank, receiving downlink transmissions indicating at least one of the codewords to be retransmitted, constructing a demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) to be sent with the at least one codeword to be retransmitted, and retransmitting the at least one codeword with the DM-RS according to a retransmission rank. The downlink transmissions may include one or more physical hybrid automatic retransmission request indicator channels and the DM-RS may be constructed based at least in part on information in the downlink transmissions.

Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. In one configuration, the apparatus may be a UE. The apparatus may receive a message (e.g., via an ePCFICH) from an eNB and may process an ePDCCH using the message. The apparatus may receive a message via an ePCFICH indicating resources for ePDCCH, the ePDCCH being a localized ePDCCH and/or a distributed ePDCCH and process the ePDCCH using the message. The apparatus may receive an ePCFICH from an eNB, where the ePCFICH is a function of at least a PCI or a virtual cell identifier. The apparatus may process an ePDCCH using a default set of resources when an ePCFICH is not detected. The apparatus may receive an ePCFICH value and may determine either a starting symbol index for an ePDCCH or one or more ePDCCH resource sets based at least on the ePCFICH value.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for sounding reference signal (SRS) management in carrier aggregation (CA) are described. A user equipment (UE) may be scheduled for overlapping (e.g., concurrent) transmissions of SRS and uplink control or data on different cells of a CA configuration. In some cases, the SRS transmission may be dropped (e.g., the UE may refrain from transmitting a scheduled SRS). While in some cases, the UE may transmit both SRS and another uplink message in overlapping time intervals on different cells (e.g., SRS may be transmitted concurrently with another uplink message). A determination of whether to transmit or drop SRS may be based on whether the different cells have different cyclic prefix (CP) lengths or on whether the SRS is scheduled to be transmitted in a special subframe of a time division duplexing (TDD) configuration, for example.

Abstract: Sounding reference signal (SRS) transmissions in a shared RF spectrum band, alone or in conjunction with a dedicated RF spectrum band, may be transmitted using two or more uplink component carriers (CCs). A UE may identify that the two or more CCs are in a same timing advance group (TAG), and transmit a SRS transmission and a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) or physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) transmission during a same uplink symbol. A UE may transmit a SRS based on a minimum configured power in the event that the UE is power limited during a SRS transmission symbol. A channel priority assigned to a CC carrying a SRS transmission in a shared RF spectrum band may be set to a higher channel priority than a channel priority for a similar transmission using a dedicated RF spectrum band.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described in which an unlicensed spectrum is used for Long Term Evolution (LTE) communications. A first method includes synchronizing clear channel assessment (CCA) slots across a plurality of base stations to determine availability of an unlicensed spectrum for transmissions in a next transmission interval. A second method includes performing a CCA during one of a plurality of CCA slots synchronized across a plurality of evolved Node Bs (eNBs) to determine availability of unlicensed spectrum for transmissions in a next transmission interval.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify uplink (UL) control information (UCI) to transmit during a subframe. The UE may then select a UL channel on which to transmit the UCI based on whether a shared data and control UL channel employs contention-based scheduling. For example, multiple UEs could contend for access to the same semi-persistently scheduled (SPS) physical UL shared channel (PUSCH). Each UE may utilize a different demodulation reference (DMRS) signal cyclic shift to identify their transmissions. In some cases, some UCI, such as channel state information (CSI), may be transmitted on a contention-based PUSCH, while other UCI, such as acknowledgement information, may be transmitted on a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH). In some cases, the channel selection may be based on a configuration received from a base station.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for dynamic cell mode indication and reporting channel and interference feedback for dormant cells in a carrier aggregation environment. Indicators of cell mode for one or more secondary cells are sent using a transmission mechanism and may configure active or dormant sub-periods within the indicated periods. Indicators of cell mode for a secondary cell may be transmitted on a carrier of the primary cell, or the indicators may be transmitted on carriers of the secondary cell. Dormancy may also be indicated by the presence or absence of a cell mode indicator for predetermined time periods. When CSI measurements occur for a carrier of a dormant cell, the UE may report CSI for the dormant periods, suppress CSI reporting for the dormant periods, adjust a reporting frequency for the dormant periods, or report some types of CSI and not others for the dormant periods.
