Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE), such as a pedestrian UE, may perform a discovery procedure with a second UE in a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) wireless communications environment that includes multiple other UEs in addition to the first UE and the second UE. The second UE may, for example, be a roadside UE configured to aggregate V2X messages for the first UE. The first UE may determine, based on performing the discovery procedure, a schedule for the first UE to use to receive bundled V2X messages from the second UE. The first UE may receive, from the second UE based on the determined schedule, a message indicating bundled information from multiple V2X messages received at the second UE from the multiple UEs.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to a system, method, and device for establishing a secure link for wireless communication. A device may send a service announcement message to at least one other device via sidelink signaling. The service announcement message indicates a capability of the device to perform a service and includes at least a security certificate of the device. The device establishes a secure link with the at least one other device corresponding to the service by establishing a device key between the device and the at least one other device. The device then communicates service data for the service between the device and the at least one other device via the secure link based on the established device key. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

The discontinuous reception configuration may include a discontinuous reception schedule for the group of UEs. The UE may transmit, to the group of UEs, the discontinuous reception configuration.

The UE may monitor for wake-up signals during the wake-up signal occasions, and the UE may further monitor the associated set of one or more resources based on receiving a wake-up signal. In some examples, respective sets of one or more sidelink resources may be associated with a number of multiple-input multiple-output layers used for sidelink communications, or may indicate respective bandwidth parts used for monitoring sidelink transmissions.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which two or more UEs of a wireless communications system may establish a sidelink connection. A first UE that is initiating sidelink communications may evaluate whether the sidelink connection can support a quality of service (QoS) for a data flow prior to admitting the data flow. The first UE may evaluate a link quality with one or more other UEs that are to use the data flow on the sidelink connection, evaluate system congestion of time/frequency resources that are available for the sidelink connection, or any combinations thereof, and admit the data flow based on the evaluation. A link quality of the sidelink connection may be determined based on a type of communication associated with the data flow, such as unicast communications with one other UE, multicast communications with multiple other UEs, or broadcast transmissions to multiple UEs.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for indicating a sidelink configuration for synchronization signal transmission. For example, a user equipment (UE) may establish an access link with a base station or transmission/reception point. The UE may measure a plurality of beams of the access link or of a sidelink channel to generate a signal metric of the access link or of the sidelink channel. Based on the generated signal metric, the UE may identify a sidelink configuration for synchronization signal transmission within the sidelink channel. In some cases, the UE may transmit a synchronization signal via the sidelink channel based at least in part on the sidelink configuration.

A multi-phase distributed ranging technique includes transmitting and receiving vehicle information messages during a first time interval, where the vehicle information messages include at least a vehicle identifier and resource information. The multi-phase technique further includes transmitting and receiving ranging signals during a second time interval, and determining times of arrival of received ranging signals. A centralized ranging technique includes receiving resource assignments from an access point, transmitting ranging signals according to the resource assignments, and determining times of arrival of received ranging signals.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. One method for wireless communication at a first device includes receiving a multicast packet from a second device, decoding control header information in the received multicast packet, determining that a decoding procedure associated with a payload of the received multicast packet is unsuccessful and transmitting a negative acknowledgement (NACK) based at least in part on the determining. The method also includes retrieving a list of transmitter identifiers. In some cases, transmitting the NACK is based at least in part on the list of transmitter identifiers. The method further includes determining a transmitter identifier associated with the multicast packet and determining that the transmitter identifier is present in the list of transmitter identifiers.

Abstract: A device receives a coded message from a re-transmitting device designated by one or more devices for performing message re-transmission on their behalf. The coded message encodes a first message and a second message, where the receiving device has failed to receive at least the second message. The receiving device further receives a coding-based re-transmission indicator indicating that the coded message is configured as a coding-based re-transmission of two or more previously transmitted messages that are encoded together in the coded message. The receiving device recovers the second message by decoding the coded message. In another aspect, a re-transmitting device is designated by one or more devices for performing message re-transmission on behalf of the devices. The device generates a coded message that encodes a first and a second message; and transmits the coded message and an indicator indicating that the coded message is a coding-based re-transmission.

Abstract: Location services for a user equipment (UE) are supported with a Network Exposure Function (NEF) serving as a focal point for any location request. An entity that needs the location of the UE sends a location request to the NEF in the home PLMN or Visited PLMN for the UE. The location request includes, e.g., a type of location request, a required location accuracy, a required response time or some combination of these. The NEF determines whether to use a Gateway Mobile Location Center (GMLC) or a serving Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) for the UE to obtain the UE location based on the content of the location request and sends the location request to the GMLC or serving AMF accordingly. Additionally, if the serving AMF is used, a serving base station may obtain the UE location and send the UE location to the serving AMF.
