Abstract:
A system for enabling controlled application of derived who-is-speaking indications related to activity of participants to a live multiparty communications conference or recorded outputs. The system includes a first node hosting a conference bridging switch, software or a combination thereof, having multiple conference input channels; a second node having data access to at least an output signal port of the conference bridging switch, software, or a combination thereof, and a software application distributed wholly to the first or second node, or in parts to the first and second node. The application is used to apply the who is speaking indications to output communications, data files, or data streams, forwarded to one of, a select potion of, or combination of, the conference participants, non-participant third parties, and one or more storage facilities.
Abstract:
A system and method for call handling make use of voiceprinting techniques to identify parties on the call and then allow call functions to be performed in accordance with the identified parties. These systems and methods can be used in conjunction with known call analysis and blocking techniques to reduce the likelihood that a caller from a restricted environment can connect to an unauthorized party by calling an authorized number and then having the call redirected, conferenced or otherwise transferred to the unauthorized party.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a system authenticates a caller before providing the caller with access to one or more secured resources. Identification and verification data is stored during system enrollment of known persons. A processing system, in a current call initiated by a caller and prior to identification of the caller, receives voice-based information for the caller including a digital representation of a telephone number spoken by the caller in the current call, the received information including voice-based identification information and voice-based verification information for the caller. The processing system automatically compares the received identification information and the received verification information for the caller with the stored identification and verification data for known persons, respectively, to uniquely identify and verify the identity of the caller as a particular known person. The processing system authenticates the caller for access to the one or more secured resources in response.
Abstract:
A method of processing calls received at an interactive voice response (IVR) server is provided and includes receiving a telephone call at the IVR. Caller identity data that is associated with the telephone call is received and a customer profile that includes a list of individual names associated with the caller identity data is received. Each of the individual names is mapped to a speech recognition grammar pattern. Further, a caller of the telephone call is prompted to speak their name. A spoken name from the caller is received and recorded. Moreover, the spoken name is converted into a speech recognition grammar pattern. Thereafter, the speech recognition grammar pattern associated with the spoken name is compared to each of the speech recognition grammar patterns associated with the individual names retrieved from the customer profile.
Abstract:
A system is disclosed for the automatic detection of fraudulent activity on a transaction network, for which each transaction over the network has an associated identifier. In one embodiment, the system includes voice comparison means for comparing a first sampled voice of a user of a first transaction with a subsequently sampled voice of a user of a subsequent transaction having an identical identifier to that of the first transaction. Control means in the form of a voice-based fraud detection engine is provided for determining, from said comparison, a profile of user usage that is representative of a total number of different users of the associated identifier. In a preferred embodiment, the system also includes voice sampling means for sampling a voice of the user of the first transaction to generate a first voice sample.
Abstract:
A system and method for extracting demographic information from a contact is disclosed. The method discloses: initiating a dialog between a contact and a call handling system; selecting a set of demographic characteristics; assigning a set of acoustic confidence scores; assigning a set of substantive confidence scores; combining the acoustic and substantive confidence scores; and tailoring information presented to the contact using the set of combined confidence scores. The system discloses: an Interactive Voice Response module for initiating a dialog between a contact and a call handling system, and selecting a set of demographic characteristics; an acoustic classifier for assigning a set of acoustic confidence scores; a substantive classifier for assigning a set of substantive confidence scores; and a data combiner for combining the acoustic and substantive confidence scores. The Interactive Voice Response module also tailors information presented to the contact using the set of combined confidence scores.
Abstract:
A method of providing identifying information over a voice communications link can include receiving, from a call participant, a personal identification code over the voice communications link, determining identifying information for the call participant using the personal identification code, and encoding the identifying information of the call participant within a voice stream carried by the voice communications link. The voice stream and identifying information can be sent to a subscriber.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and products for voicemail searching that include storing, in association with voicemail messages, voiceprints of callers who leave voicemail messages for voicemail users in a voicemail system; storing caller speech tags in association with the voiceprints; identifying, in dependence upon caller voiceprints, callers who leave new voicemail messages; receiving, from a particular voicemail user, search keywords entered as speech and converted to text through automated speech recognition; and selecting, in dependence upon the search keywords and the caller speech tags, one or more selected voicemail messages from a multiplicity of voicemail messages for the particular voicemail user.
Abstract:
A voice processing system is provided in which sets of engines running on a plurality of servers are configured differently from one another. The sets of engines may be configured to achieve different trade-offs between performance of a task and resources required to perform the task. In the voice processing system, a task routing server is provided that assigns different sets of sub-tasks to different sets of task engines. The number of engines used to perform a task and the number of engines in each set are adjusted. By adjusting the parameters settings for the set of engines based on the type of application, the particular requirements of the application, or the nature and importance of the subtasks, for example, advantages such as improvement of resource utilization and the hardware and software costs reduction may be obtained.
Abstract:
A system and method for identifying a participant during a conference call include the capability to receive a packet containing data that represents audible sounds spoken by one of a plurality of participants in a conference call and to determine a speaker of the audible sounds using voice profile information of the participants. The system and method further include the capability to provide identification information of the speaker to the other participants in the conference call contemporaneously with providing audible sounds based on the data to those participants.
