Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may determine a transmission power for an uplink shared channel communication based at least in part on at least one of a code rate parameter, a block length parameter, or a target block error rate parameter associated with the uplink shared channel communication. In some aspects, the user equipment may transmit the uplink shared channel communication using the transmission power based at least in part on determining the transmission power. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive system information indicating a first set of resources allocated for transmission of random access messages and a second set of resources for requesting on-demand signaling. The UE may transmit a random access message via the first set of resources, and may transmit a request for on-demand signaling via the second set of resources. Upon receiving the random access message, a network entity may transmit a random access response (RAR) indicating a third set of resources allocated for reception of random access messages. Upon receiving the request, the network entity may transmit an indication of a fourth set of resources allocated for transmission of the on-demand signaling. Accordingly, the UE may retransmit the random access message via the third set of resources, and may receive the on-demand signaling via the fourth set of resources.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support modulation and coding scheme (MCS) table design for non-Gaussian channels. In a first aspect, a method of wireless communication performed at a wireless communication device includes encoding information in accordance with a channel code rate selected from MCS data to generate encoded information. The MCS data represents a MCS table having at least one pair of entries that correspond to different modulation orders and for which a spectral efficiency associated with an entry having a higher modulation order is less than or equal to a spectral efficiency associated with an entry having a lower modulation order. The method further includes transmitting the encoded information to a second wireless communication device. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) and a network entity may support communication of a compressed channel state information (CSI) feedback. The UE and the network entity may use closed-loop feedback to improve beamforming tracking accuracy. For example, the UE may receive a CSI reference signal (CSI-RS) that is beamformed based on a channel estimate of a sounding reference signal (SRS) or a previous CSI feedback, or both. The UE may transmit a feedback message including compressed CSI that is generated through encoding a measurement of the CSI-RS. The compressed CSI may be generated based on a predicted channel estimate at the network entity, determined based on the channel estimate of the SRS or the previous CSI feedback.

Abstract: In some circumstances, a URLLC may preempt resource. An apparatus may be configured to receive a set of resource blocks from a base station including at least one of eMBB data or URLLC data in a PDSCH. The apparatus may receive a URLLC indicator from the base station. The URLLC indicator may be received embedded within the URLLC data or received separate from the URLLC data within DCI of a PDCCH. The URLLC indicator indicates whether the set of resource blocks includes at least part of the URLLC data. The apparatus may determine, based on the URLLC indicator, whether the set of resource blocks includes the URLLC data and processing the set of resource blocks based on a result of determining whether the set of resource blocks includes the URLLC data.

A UE may receive outer coded downlink signaling via carrier aggregation, and may deactivate retransmission protocols and then selecting at least one of two different feedback modes. A first feedback mode may include a radio link control (RLC) status report mode (e.g., which may be referred to as mode 1, or RLC mode 1). A second feedback mode is a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback mode (e.g., which may be referred to as mode 2, or HARQ mode 2. The network may configure the UE with parameters for operating in mode 1, mode 2, or both, or the UE may select a feedback mode autonomously. The UE may refrain from transmitting additional feedback signaling, and retransmissions may be deactivated, resulting in improved power savings and more efficient use of system resources.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some examples, a transmitting device may generate a parity check matrix based on performing a lifting operation on a base matrix. Each column of the base matrix may correspond to a different variable node and each row may correspond to a different check node. The transmitting device may then generate a set of coded bits based on the parity check matrix and each coded bit of the set of coded bits may be associated with a respective variable node. Further, the transmitting device may interleave the set of coded bits such that subsets of the set of coded bits associated with a same variable node are mapped to a same channel reliability level and transmit the set of coded bits according to the interleaving.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide a subframe structure for time division duplex (TDD) carriers that can be entirely self-contained. That is, information transmitted on a TDD carrier may be grouped into subframes, where each subframe provides communication in both directions (e.g., uplink and downlink) in a suitable fashion to enable such communication without needing any further information in another subframe. For example, a single subframe may include scheduling information, data information corresponding to the scheduling information, and acknowledgment information corresponding to the data information.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Some wireless communications systems may support hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) schemes to improve the likelihood that information is received correctly over a wireless communications link. In HARQ, when a transmitting device determines that a receiving device failed to successfully decode a transmission of information, the transmitting device may retransmit the information to the receiving device. In some cases, HARQ techniques may be used for communications associated with different types of services. In such cases, to keep the latency of communications within a latency budget for a particular type of service, wireless devices may utilize the techniques described herein to dynamically terminate HARQ retransmissions. For instance, a transmitting device may avoid retransmitting information when an amount of time that has elapsed since an original transmission of the information has exceeded the latency budget.
