Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine one or more sidelink discontinuous reception (DRX) parameters for a configured sidelink DRX cycle. The sidelink DRX parameters may be selected by the UE or may be indicated by a base station. In some cases, the UE may transmit an indication of the sidelink DRX parameters to another UE (e.g., via a sidelink communication link). A UE may discontinuously monitor for transmissions over the sidelink communication link in accordance with the sidelink DRX parameters.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for use in wireless communication devices to provide a capability for vehicles to actively perform traffic planning with regard to other vehicles, for example, within a region comprising an intersection and possibly wherein the intersection is not associated with a device or service for such or similar purposes. Such underlying techniques may reduce traffic congestion in certain instances by allowing two or more vehicles to negotiate or otherwise coordinate safe traversal within a region comprising an intersection. Moreover, the traffic planning techniques may be of use for a variety and/or mixture of different types of vehicles, paths, intersections, etc.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides for centralized, scheduler-based handling for UEs which transmit data to and receive data from a maneuver coordinator based on V2X communication. Once a UE is aware of the maneuver coordinator, the UE may send a request to the maneuver coordinator for maneuver operation scheduling. The maneuver coordinator then schedules and coordinates the UE's operation.

A first user equipment (UE) may transmit, within an active duration of a first sidelink discontinuous reception (DRX) pattern of a second UE, sidelink control information (SCI) indicating a resource reservation for a sidelink resource of the sidelink channel within at least a portion of an inactive duration of the first sidelink DRX pattern. The first UE may then communicate, with the second UE via the sidelink channel, a sidelink message within the sidelink resource indicated in the resource reservation.

Abstract: Location services for a user equipment (UE) are supported with a Network Exposure Function (NEF) serving as a focal point for any location request. An entity that needs the location of the UE sends a location request to the NEF in the home PLMN or Visited PLMN for the UE. The location request includes, e.g., a type of location request, a required location accuracy, a required response time or some combination of these. The NEF determines whether to use a Gateway Mobile Location Center (GMLC) or a serving Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) for the UE to obtain the UE location based on the content of the location request and sends the location request to the GMLC or serving AMF accordingly. Additionally, if the serving AMF is used, a serving base station may obtain the UE location and send the UE location to the serving AMF.

A multi-phase distributed ranging technique includes transmitting and receiving vehicle information messages during a first time interval, where the vehicle information messages include at least a vehicle identifier and resource information. The multi-phase technique further includes transmitting and receiving ranging signals during a second time interval, and determining times of arrival of received ranging signals. A centralized ranging technique includes receiving resource assignments from an access point, transmitting ranging signals according to the resource assignments, and determining times of arrival of received ranging signals.

A transmitting device may identify a first channel group comprising a first radio bearer and a second channel group comprising a set of second radio bearers. In some examples, the first channel group further comprising a one-to-one mapping between the first radio bearer and a first channel of a backhaul network and the second channel group comprising a many-to-one mapping between the set of second radio bearers and a second channel of the backhaul network. The transmitting device may transmit a first packet on the first channel of the first channel group of the backhaul network, the first packet comprising a mapping indicator set to a first value and a first identifier associated with the first channel of the first channel group.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that improve privacy in wireless communications, such as communications by a user equipment (UE), which may in some cases be a vehicle UE. For example, various vehicle-to-everything (V2X) transmissions may be unencrypted, and a vehicle may be expected to periodically change one or more identifiers it uses for various communication services. Privacy may be enhanced, for example, via encryption key roll-over, as well as roll-over of one or more other identifiers associated with a UE that may potentially be used by an observer to track the UE. The UE may transmit a message that includes an updated lower layer identifier (e.g., a layer-2 (L2) identifier) to another UE in a V2X unicast communications link, which may trigger a change in identifiers of a set of identifiers and an updated security context. All or a portion of the message may be encrypted.
