    摘要: Disclosed are cathode units for use in fluorescent discharge lamps which include a stem element adapted for sealing engagement with an end of an elongated vitreous/glass tube, first and second electrode support wires extending axially through the stem element, and a filament electrode which is oriented substantially axially with respect to the support wires. The support wires each have a inwardly-directed tip portion and the filament electrode is attached thereto. The ends of the filament electrode are attached to the support wires by welding. In alternative embodiments, the disclosed cathode unit can further include an electrode shield assembly.

    摘要: To obtain a fluorescent display tube which allows the cathode to be driven by a DC current from a battery even when the overall length of the tube becomes large. This object can be achieved by: placing anchors 11A and 11B on both ends of the cathode 10; placing a support on the middle point between the anchors 11A and 11B, to which part of the cathode 10 has been fixed; and adjusting the lengths between the support and the anchors 11A and 11B to be 100 mm or less, and then adding DC power sources 13A and 13B which pass DC currents negative with respect to the support, and positive with respect to the anchors 11A and 11B between the support 12 and the anchors 11A and 11B.

    摘要: A mesh cathode comprising a tubular mesh grid formed of electron-emitting wires; the tubular grid having one end portion thereof fastened to an annular heating current supply terminal and having the other end portion thereof attached to a cap which is supported on a rod disposed coaxially of the tubular grid. The rod and the cap cooperate to form a second heating current supply terminal. The cap comprises a plurality of laminar members each having a plurality of arms extending radially outwardly from a centrally disposed hub having an aperture therethrough for fittingly engaging the supporting rod. The laminar members are arranged with the arms in a staggered pattern relative to each other.
