Abstract: A system and method of a variable speed cooling fan (30) for a skid mounted compressor (22). A magnetic variable speed clutch (38) is mounted to the cooling fan drive shaft (28). The clutch mechanism is driven via by a drive pulley (38) on the crankshaft of the engine (24) driving the compressor (22). The speed of the fan (30) is varied dependent upon the temperature of the fluids being cooled.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods are described including a blood pump that includes an impeller, and a motor configured to drive the impeller to pump blood by rotating the impeller. The impeller is configured to undergo axial motion, in response to changes in a pressure against which the impeller is pumping. A sensor detects the axial motion of the impeller, and generates a sensor signal in response thereto. A computer processor receives the sensor signal and generates an output in response thereto. Other applications are also described.

Abstract: A turbocharger housing for an engine includes a specifically designed mounting interface provided at a turbine outlet of a turbine housing. In particular, the mounting interface includes a mounting flange that is inclined with respect to a plane that is orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the turbocharger. In particular, in case of an arrangement where the turbocharger is arranged such that the shaft of the same extends substantially horizontally, the mounting flange of the turbine outlet is rotated by a predetermined angle of, for example, 20 degrees about the vertical axis.

The phase adjustment jig 50 includes a fifth jig gear 66 that meshes with the drive gear 4 in a state where a frame 51 is fixed to the gear casing; and a manually rotatable handle 70 that is configured to rotate the fifth jig gear 66.

Abstract: A retrofittable control system for controlling an engine and a clutch of a frost fan may include a data processing system, a thermostat, a human machine interface, a throttle control module, and/or a clutch control module. The control system may be configured to automatically start the fan when the thermostat detects a temperature below a user defined turn-on temperature, and to automatically shut down and park the fan when the thermostat detects a temperature above a user defined turn-off temperature. In some examples, starting up the fan may include running a clutch engagement sequence that engages the clutch at different speeds for different durations.

Abstract: A compressor device comprising a compressor element with a housing with, an inlet and an outlet. At least one rotor is affixed in the housing that is provided with a drive. The compressor device is provided with an oil circuit for injecting oil into the housing. The oil circuit only comprises one pump for driving the oil around in the oil circuit. This pump is coupled to a first shaft via a first disengageable coupling, more specifically a shaft of the aforementioned drive on the one hand, and to a second shaft via a second disengageable coupling, more specifically a shaft of a secondary drive on the other hand. The first and second disengageable couplings between the pump and the first shaft and between the pump and the second shaft are such that the pump is only driven by the shaft of these two shafts that has the highest speed.

Abstract: Disclosed is an embodiment of a dual seal arrangement for the high-speed shaft of a supercharger with a centrifugal compressor and a mechanical speed step-down transmission to the shaft. A ring located about the shaft splits the rotational speed of the shaft between two seals, so that each seal spins at a speed of roughly half the speed of the shaft. The arrangement can also be used to split the shaft speed between two bearings in the same manner. The high-speed shaft may also have a turbine attached, to form a driven turbocharger.
