摘要: Systems and methods are described for monitoring, detecting, and initiating a response to an environmental anomaly within a shipping container of packages involves sensor-based ID nodes, a command node and an external transceiver on a transit vehicle. Each ID node generates and broadcasts sensor data on environmental conditions proximate the respective ID node within the shipping container. The command node detects the sensor data from each ID node and compares it with locally maintained context data (an environmental threshold condition) for that ID node to detect the environmental anomaly when sensor data exceeds a respective threshold condition. The command node then generates a layered alert notification related to the environmental anomaly identifying a targeted mediation recipient and targeted mediation action, and establishing a mediation response priority. The command node initiates a mediation response related to the targeted mediation action by transmitting the layered alert notification transmitted to the external transceiver.

摘要: An adaptive method and system for monitoring a shipping container for an environmental anomaly uses sensor-based ID nodes within the container and a command node. Sensors on each ID node generate sensor data about an environmental condition proximate the ID node as disposed within the container. Each ID node periodically broadcasts the sensor data. The command node monitors a first group of sensor data from the ID nodes over a first time period to detect an initial environmental threshold condition related to the container, then monitors a subsequent group of sensor data over a second time period under a modified monitoring parameter to detect a secondary environmental threshold condition related to the container as the anomaly. In response to detecting the secondary condition, the command node generates an alert notification and transmits the alert notification to an external transceiver to initiate a mediation response related to the anomaly.

摘要: A system for detecting and extinguishing fires occurring within a predetermined observation area in response to commands received from a monitoring center. The system includes a source of fire retardant liquid and a monitor for selectively directing liquid to the observation area. A valve is disposed in fluid communication between the source and the monitor and is selectively movable between a closed position wherein liquid is prevented from flowing through the valve, and an open position wherein liquid can flow through the valve. An infrared camera generates a signal in response to temperature changes occurring in the observation area. A network switch is provided for communicating with the monitoring center. A control unit in communication with the valve, the camera, and the network switch relays the signal to the monitoring center and moves the valve between the positions in response to commands received from the monitoring center.

Finally, the method responds to the determined appliance state by outputting a control signal from the control module.

摘要: An apparatus for providing an autonomous fire extinguishing system including a tank filled with an extinguishing agent with a targeting system with independently mounted targeting servos and targeting gimbal to position an emitter and an infra-red camera. A microcontroller provides control signals to the targeting servos and an actuation valve. One or more heat sensors, smoke detectors, humidity sensors, and/or carbon monoxide detectors are electrically connected to the microcontroller; and the microcontroller continuously reads in the sensor data till appropriate conditions indicating a potential fire are detected; these appropriate can be based on temperature, rate of temperate increase, smoke levels, humidity, and/or carbon monoxide levels. Once the appropriate conditions are detecting, the microcontroller commands the targeting gimbal to position the infra-red camera to a number of calculated positions, taking infra-red pictures covering the environment requiring protection. Based on the infra-red data from scanning, an elevated temperature location is determined. If the infra-red data and other sensor data confirm a fire, the emitter releases fire suppressant onto fire. Once the infra-red data and other sensor data confirm the fire is extinguished, the apparatus stops releasing suppressant and resumes monitoring the environment.

摘要: A smart fluid application nozzle consisting of an optical based event locating system, a multi-port nozzle block, and a port switching mechanism is disclosed by the present application. The smart nozzle utilizes a unique arrangement of discharge ports, allowing the angle of the discharge agent to be controlled without moving the nozzle housing. Multiple ports are activated per event to create a uniform fluid distribution within the discharging jet while controlling the discharge angle, which cannot be achieved through a single port discharge. Upon receiving a detection signal, the event locating system determines the spatial location of the event region and activates the appropriate discharge ports, thereby directing agent toward the event zone and applying fluid while minimizing damage to nearby areas. The use of the system may be used wherever the precise directed application of as fluid is desired including, fire suppression.
