摘要: The one-step system of the present invention provides a highly sanitary, efficient, economical and humane method for raising pigs from birth to finished product. Farrowing and raising pigs in just one location helps to reduce virus and bacteria problems as compared with conventional methods and significantly reduces labor costs. As a result, the mature hog is healthier and also more profitable. By slowing composting fibrous material and manure on-site, the waste management system of the one-step system completely eliminates the need for offensive lagoons, and recycles the manure for end products useful in gardening and agricultural applications.

摘要: A carbonaceous material and a nitrogenous material are mixed in combination with activated carbon ash and perlite fines. The activated carbon and perlite fines serve to limit the loss of ammonia nitrates as well as to lock nitrogen in the biomass and to limit fly larva and odors. The nitrogenous material comprises fish scrap and the carbonaceous material may include wood sawdust, wood pulp or agricultural by-products. All of the ingredients of the product may comprise industrial waste products. The process is conducive to forming large batches of the process comprising depositing an elongated windrow on the ground and making a full length groove in the top surface. The activated carbon and perlite dust are then layered in the groove and the nitrogenous material deposited on the activated carbon and perlite dust. The ingredients are mixed under selected moisture and temperature conditions to form the end product.

摘要: A method is provided wherein wood-wastes in the form of stumps, limbs, branches, whole trees and the like are formed in a loose pile on a substantially flat site as a filled landfill or abandoned surface mine. The file is allowed to disintegrate until portions are of a crumbly texture at which stage large whole pieces in the pile are separated from the crumbly texture material which then becomes a useful wood-waste product and groundcover at the site at which the separation takes place. Deep-rooted plants are permitted to grow on the pile accelerate the disintegration.

摘要: A process for manufacturing a pasteurized substrate by biological decomposition of organic refuse is characterized by the following processing steps:a) A container (1) is half filled with a mixture of solid refuse to be decomposed, liquid substances are added, and the mixture is stirred for a first residence time of 2 to 3 hours.b) A quantity not greater than one-third of the weight of the mixed refuse of decanted clarified sludge at a temperature equal to that of the mixed refuse is added. A quantity of white lime may also be added, and stirring is continued for a further residence time of 69 to 70 hours. An apparatus for carrying out the process comprises a parallelepipedal container (1) with a pentagonal profile in the shape of an inverted house roof with its ridge pole sunk in the ground and whose width (b) is greater than its length (l). The base of the container includes two identical, obtuse-angled, mutually inclined half-bases (1.1, 1.2) the surface of which is shaped to match screw conveyors (2) mounted thereon.

摘要: A process and an installation for utilizing organic substances are proposed, in which the substances are correspondingly comminuted and processed by mixing and reaction stages to utilizable compost. The installation essentially comprises a heatable fermenter with a stirrer located therein. In order to obtain an approximately closed process circuit the comminuted substances are supplied as so-called fresh material by a supply shaft to a conveying shaft constructed as a heat exchanger and undergo corresponding heating therein. Through further supply of fresh material the already heated fresh material is supplied to the fermenter and mixed therein by the stirrer accompanied by further heating. The fermented matter formed in the fermenter, on supplying further fresh material, can be admixed in a specific ratio as so-called bacterial inoculum with the fresh material throughout the process circuit. The gases formed during the fermentation process in the tank can either be used in the installation as process energy or can be supplied via a line to another energy supply plant.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method wherein solid organic waste originating from plants or animals or both, is digested by an anaerobic fermentation, that is less labor, time and space consuming than the conventional aerobic fermentation method, and may be performed with waste that has not to be subjected to a pre-treatment wherein a slurry having a rather low solids content is prepared. According to the present method solid organic waste originating from plants or animals or both is decomposed under anaerobic conditions in at least one primary reactor, whereupon the water soluble fatty acids formed by said decomposition together with other soluble organic and inorganic substances are removed to a substantial extent by rinsing with an aqueous liquid in order to avoid that in the reactor the concentration of fermentation inhibiting substances becomes too high and/or the pH of the contents of the reactor becomes too low, and the solution thus formed is fed to at least one auxiliary reactor wherein the organic material is converted into a mixture of carbon dioxide and methane under anaerobic conditions in a way known per se and the sludge formed in the primary reactor is removed therefrom.

摘要: A method of aerobic decomposition of organic solids involves mixing material containing the organic solids to be decomposed with relatively drier material in order to set an upper limit to the dampness of the mixture to be processed. An apparatus for aerobic decomposition includes a decomposition reactor in the form of a tower which tapers in the upward direction. The bottom of the reactor is square or rectangular in cross section and its top is oval or circular in cross section. The bottom of the reactor is made in the form of a roller grid. A mixing section is provided for mixing the material to be decomposed with relatively drier material.
