Abstract: A chassis component (1, 32) has a first end section (2), a second end section (3), and a connecting section (4) between the two end sections (2, 3), with at least one bearing (9, 10) in one of the two end sections (2, 3). Abstract: A vehicle suspension system includes left and right control arm assemblies each having a wheel mount structure, an upper control arm, and a lower control arm. Each control arm includes a first end configured to be pivotably connected to a frame structure of a vehicle and a second end rotatably connected to the wheel mount structure. The vehicle suspension system also includes a transverse leaf spring having an elongated body extending between the control arm assemblies, outer mounting brackets respectively connecting left and right ends of the elongated body to the left and right control arm assemblies, and one or more inner mounting brackets located between the outer mounting brackets. The transverse leaf spring is contoured such that a contoured portion of the elongated body deviates in a downward direction in order to extend below an electric drive system disposed within an internal space between rails of the frame structure.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to a mechanical joint with five degrees of freedom. In certain embodiments, the mechanical joint includes first and second triangular linkages The first triangular linkage includes a base end configured to hingedly couple to a first body to pivot relative to the first body and a vertex end that includes a first rotational member. The second triangular linkage includes a base end configured to hingedly couple to a second body to pivot relative to the second body and a vertex end that includes a second rotational member. The first rotational member and the second rotational member are rotationally coupled to form a all joint. With this joint, the second body is moveable in two translational degrees of freedom and restricted in one translational degree of freedom relative to the first body. Such a configuration allows vertical movement and/or reduces stress on the joint.

The method may include placing a wheel control arm end of the wheel control arm onto a pressing plate of a pressing tool; and forming a tapered wall in the wheel control arm end and a circumferential collar around the tapered wall in the wheel control arm end, wherein the forming comprises pressing the wheel control arm end against the pressing plate using a pressing punch, wherein a volume of metal of the wheel control arm end is displaced into a circumferential cavity due to the pressing of the wheel control arm end against the pressing plate,; and perforating the tapered wall to obtain the sleeve-like passage.

Abstract: A universal axle-hub assembly is provided for an off-road vehicle. The universal axle-hub assembly comprises a wheel hub that receives a constant velocity (CV) axle snout into an opening extending through an axle support of the wheel hub. An outboard-most portion of the opening is a splined portion that engages with similar splines disposed on an outboard-most portion of the CV axle snout. An inboard-most portion of the opening is a smooth portion that receives a smooth portion of the CV axle snout. The axle support extends through an entirety of the width of a bearing that supports the wheel hub, such that the bearing supports the smooth portion of the CV axle snout and substantially eliminates shear forces acting on the splined portion of the CV axle snout. A bearing carrier supports the bearing and may be fastened onto a trailing arm or a spindle of the off-road vehicle.

Abstract: A method for producing a chassis link includes shaping a single-shell main body from a sheet metal blank and deforming the sheet metal blank by deep drawing, which includes pre-drawing during which an indentation is produced on the main body and in which the indentation is trimmed and a bush is attached to a projection on the main body once the indentation has been trimmed. The sheet metal blank is pre-drawn such that the indentation is given a radius that matches the bush to be attached such that there is no further need for a further forming operation on the indentation once the indentation has been trimmed.

Each suspension assembly has a suspension support connected to the frame; a lower control arm having an inner end pivotally connected to the suspension support at two longitudinally spaced positions; an upper control arm having an inner end pivotally connected 5 to the suspension support at two longitudinally spaces positions; a knuckle pivotally connected to outer ends of the lower and outer control arms; and a shock absorber having an upper end pivotally connected to the suspension support and a lower end pivotally connected to one of the lower and upper control arms. A sway bar has ends connected to two of the control arms and is pivotally connected to the suspension supports. Wheels are rotationally 10 connected to the knuckles.
