Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for establishing or resuming a wireless communication connection in a wireless communication network. According to the method, a first message is transmitted from a first device to a second device. The first message includes a request for the second device to provide a data link layer communication forwarding between the first device and a base station. Furthermore, a connection between the first device and the base station is established or resumed via the data link layer communication forwarding of the second device.

Abstract: A wireless communication device (10) controls changing of a connection of the wireless communication device (10) to an access node (100) of the wire-less communication network between: a relay based connection to the access node (100), and either a direct connection to the access node (100) or another relay based connection to the access node (100). The relay based connection extends via a device-to-device communication link (30) between the wireless communication device (10) and a first further wireless communication device (40). The other relay based connection extends via another device-to-device communication link (30′) between the wireless communication device (10) and a second further wireless communication device (40′). Further, the wireless communication (10) sends an indication to the access node (100). The indication enables the access node (100) to identify an existing Packet Data Convergence Protocolcontext, which was utilized before changing the connection, and to continue utilizing the existing PDCP context after the changing of the connection.

Abstract: An infrastructure equipment that transmits a radio network identifier to a communications device for identifying the communications device when allocating communications resources of the wireless access interface for transmitting downlink data to the communications device. After the communications device has entered an inactive connected state, the infrastructure equipment transmits control signals including the radio network identifier for allocating communications resources of the wireless access interface for the communications device to receive downlink data, determine whether the communications device is still within a radio coverage area of the infrastructure equipment, and if the communications device has left the coverage area, transmit an indication to the one or more other infrastructure equipment via the inter-connecting interface to trigger a process for transmitting downlink data to the communications device from the one or more other infrastructure equipment.

Abstract: A method of communicating data between a radio network infrastructure and a terminal device in a wireless telecommunications network.
