Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive configuration information indicative of a subband full-duplex (SBFD) configuration associated with at least one flexible time resource semi-statically configured as an SBFD time resource. The UE may apply, in association with at least one of a slot format communication or the SBFD configuration, a directionality rule to the at least one flexible time resource to establish at least one directional format of the at least one flexible time resource, the directionality rule corresponding to an uplink transmission direction or a downlink reception direction, and the slot format communication indicating a slot format update instructing the UE to update a directionality associated with the at least one flexible time resource. The UE may communicate with a network node based on the at least one directional format. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A reconfigurable reflective surface (RIS) may receive control information from a network entity. The control information may be usable at the RIS for determination of a set of phase parameters. The RIS may determine whether distance information between the network entity and the RIS is available. The RIS may determine the set of phase parameters in accordance with the control information. The set of phase parameters may be usable by the RIS for reflecting communications from the network entity to a user equipment (UE) in accordance with a focusing distance that may be based on the determined availability of the distance information. The RIS may apply the set of phase parameters to reflect a signal from the network entity to the UE.

A relay node may establish a control plane connection between the relay node and a base station, wherein establishing the control plane connection comprises receiving from the base station a first network identifier for the relay node. The relay node may receive, via the control plane connection, a relay configuration from the base station. The relay node may monitor grants associated with a set of one or more user equipment (UEs) based at least in part on the relay configuration, each UE comprising a network identifier that is different from the first network identifier. The relay node may relay communications between the base station and the set of one or more UEs according to the monitoring.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for configuring user equipment (UE) beam switching in multiple transmission/reception points (multi-TRPs) communications. In particular, the present disclosure provides techniques for harmonizing downlink panel switching and uplink panel switching using transmission configuration indicator (TCI) codepoints, such that in some cases, a single downlink control information (DCI) may convey multiple TCI states for multiple panels or multi-TRPs. For example, a UE receives a first DCI indicating a first TCI codepoint from TCI codepoints activated by a media access control (MAC) control element (CE). The UE receives a second DCI scheduling an uplink transmission from the UE or a downlink transmission to the UE and conveying panel switching information. The UE processes the scheduled uplink transmission and/or downlink transmission based on one or more (joint) TCI states mapped to the first TCI codepoint and the panel switching information (e.g., dynamic switching bits).
