    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described, in which a communication device (e.g., a user equipment (UE), a network entity) may perform carrier aggregation, and cross-carrier scheduling provides that a first carrier may provide scheduling information for one or more other carriers, in which the one or more other carriers may have different discontinuous reception (DRX) configurations than the first carrier. One or more DRX-related timers of different DRX groups may be started or restarted based on a control information reception on the first carrier, or on a different carrier of a different DRX group. Additionally, or alternatively, control information transmissions on the first carrier may be provided based on one or more DRX-related timers that are associated with the first carrier, or that are associated with a carrier of another DRX group than the DRX group of the first carrier, or any combinations thereof.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Some wireless communications systems may support dynamic uplink control channel grouping. For example, a user equipment (UE) may receive control signaling indicating multiple uplink control channel groups for the UE, where each uplink control channel group of the multiple uplink control channel groups is associated with a different set of uplink control channel resources. Additionally, the UE may select an uplink control channel group for a component carrier (CC) associated with the UE, where the uplink control channel group is selected in accordance with a detected trigger at the UE. Further, the UE may transmit uplink control information for the CC in accordance with the selected uplink control channel group.

    Abstract: The present disclosure describes various aspects of the implementation and design of Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) in 5G new radio (NR) applications. Aspects include methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable medium for one or more of multiple PDCCH search spaces, control resource block (CRB), irregular multiple slots or mini-slots grants, or fast control channel signaling for grant-free uplink (UL). For example, different scheduling entities can each have one or two search spaces defined (e.g., common and/or user equipment (UE)-centric search spaces). Also, CRBs can be used as units for PDCCH transmission instead of resource element groups/control channel elements (REGs/CCEs). In addition, irregularities in time domain, frequency domain, or both can be introduced in the granting of resource blocks (RBs) over multiple slots or mini-slots. Moreover, signaling can be used to indicate to a UE configured for grant-free UL the portion of the pool of resources available for grant-free UL.
