    Abstract: A method and apparatus can provide for signaling of a higher layer message. A higher layer message from a base station indicating to monitor a control channel using demodulation reference signals in a shortened transmission time interval in a subframe can be received. A first control channel candidate in the shortened transmission time interval can be attempted to be decoded, where the first control channel candidate comprises a first shortened control channel element spanning a first set of shortened resource element groups in a frequency domain using a first demodulation reference signal on a first antenna port, where a first precoder applies to all demodulation reference signal resource elements in the first set of shortened resource element groups. A second control channel candidate in the shortened transmission time interval can be attempted to be decoded.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) includes a signal processing unit coupled to a transceiver. The UE is configured to receive a subframe comprising a plurality of time-frequency resources. The UE includes a processor in communication with the signal processing unit. The processor: (i) receives a first indication from a node in a network indicating a plurality of physical resource block sets; (ii) receives control signaling from a node in a network; (iii) determines, from the control signaling, first control information that indicates at least one selected physical resource block set from the plurality of physical resource block sets that may contain a second control information associated with a shortened transmission time interval; and (iv) monitors the at least one selected physical resource block set to identify the second control information.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus reduce latency of Long Term Evolution (LTE) uplink transmissions. Configuration information regarding a first set of resources can be received. A second set of resources can be determined. A transmission resource can be selected from the first set of resources or the second set of resources using a selection criterion. A scheduling request can be transmitted if the transmission resource belongs to the first set of resources. A data transport block can be transmitted if the transmission resource belongs to the second set of resources. The scheduling request can be control information requesting resources for transmission of the data transport block.

    Abstract: For random linear network encoded data transmission, a method communicates a Galois field to user equipment. In addition, the method receives a set of k data packets, wherein at least two of the k packets are of different packet lengths. The method further resizes the k data packets to generate k packets of equal packet length. The method encodes the k resized data packets from a first data ensemble into r random linear network coded (RLNC) packets as a function of the Galois field. The method further iteratively transmits the RLNC packets from two or more transmission nodes to the user equipment until the decode feedback indicates that a packet ensemble is decoded from the transmitted RLNC packets. Each RLNC packet is transmitted by a selected transmission node.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus schedule uplink transmissions with reduced latency. A first downlink transmission can be received at a device in a first downlink TTI of a first duration in a first downlink subframe. A second downlink transmission can be received in a second downlink TTI of a second duration in a second downlink subframe. The first downlink TTI and second downlink TTI may not overlap. A first HARQ-ACK feedback and a first HARQ-ACK PUCCH resource can be determined in response to receiving the first downlink transmission in the first downlink TTI. The first HARQ-ACK PUCCH resource can be mapped to REs in a first uplink TTI of a third duration in a first uplink subframe. A second HARQ-ACK feedback and a second HARQ-ACK PUCCH resource can be determined in response to receiving the second downlink transmission in the second downlink TTI. The second HARQ-ACK PUCCH resource can be mapped to REs in a second uplink TTI of a fourth duration in the first uplink subframe. The first UL TTI can include a temporal portion that overlaps the second UL TTI. The first HARQ-ACK PUCCH resource or the second HARQ-ACK PUCCH resource can be selected based on at least the determined second HARQ-ACK feedback. A signal can be transmitted in response to the determined first HARQ-ACK feedback and second HARQ-ACK feedback on the selected HARQ-ACK PUCCH resource on the overlapped portion of first uplink TTI and second uplink TTI in the first uplink subframe.
