Abstract: Broadcasted minimum system information comprising information for initial access to a cell can be received. A random access message, including a request for non-minimum system information, of a random access procedure can be transmitted. The random access message can comprise a random access preamble associated with requesting the non-minimum system information. The non-minimum system information can be excluded from the broadcasted minimum system information. A random access response message can be received in response to the request for the non-minimum system information. The random access response message can include only a MAC subheader with a RAPID.

Abstract: For switching between packet duplication operating modes, methods, apparatus, and systems are disclosed. One apparatus includes a processor and a transceiver that communicates with a mobile communication network via a radio bearer. The processor determines whether PDCP packet duplication associated with the PDCP protocol entity is to be activated and, if so, communicates with a mobile communication network according to a packet duplication mode of operation. Otherwise, the processor determines whether a split threshold value of the PDCP protocol entity is set to a predefined value, communicates with the mobile communication network according to a first split bearer mode of operation in response to determining that the split threshold value is set to the predefined value, and communicates with the mobile communication network according to a second split bearer mode of operation in response to determining that the split threshold value is not set to the predefined value.

Abstract: Minimum system information including at least cell access information to establish access with a cell can be transmitted, the minimum system information also including at least one indication indicating whether particular system information listed in scheduling information in the minimum system information is being broadcasted or not being broadcasted. A system information request message requesting transmission of non-minimum system information if the at least one indication indicates the non-minimum system information is not being broadcasted can be received, where the non-minimum system information may not be included in the minimum system information. The non-minimum system information can be transmitted either in response to the receiving of the system information request message or in response to the at least one indication indicating whether particular system information is being broadcasted.

Abstract: For handling multi UL access procedures, methods, apparatus, and systems are disclosed. One apparatus includes a processor and a transceiver for communicating with a mobile communication network using a plurality of radio bearers. The processor initiates a first random-access procedure for a first radio bearer. The processor receives a scheduling request trigger for a second radio bearer while the first random-access procedure remains pending. The processor determines whether simultaneous scheduling request transmission is permitted, wherein the transceiver transmits a first scheduling request message for the second radio bearer in response to simultaneous scheduling request transmission being permitted.

Abstract: A DL signal including a plurality of SS blocks can be received. At least one SS block can be detected from the plurality of SS blocks. A SS block can be selected from the detected at least one SS block. A SS block can be selected from at least one SS block detected from the plurality of SS blocks. A subset of RACH resources and a subset of RACH preambles associated with the selected SS block can be identified. A RACH resource can be selected from the subset of RACH resources and a RACH preamble can be selected from the subset of RACH preambles. The selected RACH preamble can be transmitted on the selected RACH resource. An RA-RNTI can be determined based on at least the selected RACH resource. At least a PDSCH including a RAR message can be received. The PDSCH can be based on the selected SS block and based on the determined RA-RNTI.
