Abstract: An audible output of a vehicle is controlled based on a variety of driving characteristics and ambient conditions. In response to receiving an indication of a triggering of an activator of a horn of a vehicle, the system determines a driving characteristic of the vehicle based on vehicle sensor data. Then, based on the driving characteristic(s) determined, and/or based on the ambient conditions, an audible output tune is automatically set for output by the vehicle. A tune and volume of the audible output selected when the driving conditions and ambient conditions indicate an emergency situation will be different from the tune and volume selected for a non-threatening situation. Also, an audible output tune may be selected to be output at a later time when the vehicle reaches a destination to signal a person at the destination that the vehicle has arrived.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for enabling delivery of an order to a customer's vehicle travelling along a first navigational route. The customer inputs an order, and a plurality of candidate vendors and candidate delivery locations are determined. A target delivery location and target vendor are selected from among the plurality of candidate delivery locations and candidate vendors based on optimizing one or more predetermined criteria. The order is transmitted to the target vendor, and a confirmation is received. The target delivery location is then transmitted to the customer. The customer travels to the target delivery location to pick up the order.

Abstract: The system trains a machine learning model using a loss function, with a part that penalizes overall signal loss, and a second part of the loss function that penalizes texture loss. The system computes a first neural feature of a first media frame stored by a media server using the trained machine learning model. The system causes a client device to receive a second media frame as a part of a media stream from the media server where the second frame is a modified version of the first media frame. The system causes the client to compute a second neural feature of the second media frame using the trained machine learning model, and compute a QoE metric based on the first neural feature and the second neural feature. The system receives the QoE metric, and uses it to modify at least one parameter of the media stream.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for providing consistent picture quality during live or non-live streaming of hybrid content. For example, a camera may capture a first piece of hybrid content depicting a scene. The scene may include one or more real objects (e.g., a first person conducting an interview) and a piece of content (e.g., a stream of a second person being interviewed) being displayed on a screen (e.g., television screen). A system may receive the first piece of hybrid content and the source of the piece of content being displayed within the scene. The system may then insert the source of the piece of content into the first piece of content, replacing the depiction of the piece of content, to generate a second piece of hybrid content. The second piece of hybrid content may then be transmitted to one or more devices.

Abstract: Systems and methods are presented herein for balancing rendering of haptics and graphics of a version of media content from a server at a client device. At a server, a request is received for a media asset for interaction on a haptic enabled device. Based on the request, haptic feedback settings of the haptic enabled device associated with the request are determined. The server transmits to the haptic enabled device a version of the media asset comprising haptic feedback rendering criteria compatible with the haptic enabled device. The version of the media asset is comprised of graphics and haptics rendering criteria transmittable over a current network connection strength between the server and the haptic enabled device and also incorporates user interaction data. The haptic enabled device renders the version of the media asset based on the haptic feedback settings.

Abstract: Systems and methods for automatically activating subtitles during presentation of a media asset are disclosed. In an example, a media application stores a user profile including a language classification probability vector corresponding to the user profile. The media application generates for display a media asset via a user interface. The media application compares the language classification probability vector to audio of the media asset presented via the user interface, and in response to determining that the audio of the media asset is beyond a threshold distance from the language classification probability vector, activates subtitles for the media asset.
