摘要: A wearable cardiac defibrillator (“WCD”) system may include a support structure that a patient can wear, an energy storage module that can store an electrical charge, and a discharge circuit that can discharge the electrical charge through the patient so as to shock him or her, while the patient is wearing the support structure. Embodiments may actively take into account bystanders, both to protect them from an inadvertent shock, and also to enlist their help. In some embodiments the WCD system includes a speaker system that transmits a sound designed to assist a bystander to perform CPR. Optionally CPR chest compressions received by the patient can be further detected, and feedback can be given. In embodiments, a WCD system may include a user interface that can be controlled to output CPR prompts tailored to a skill level of the bystander.

摘要: A Wearable Medical System (WMS) that implements a wearable cardioverter defibrillator (WCD), includes a microphone and related improvements. The microphone can be on the same dongle as the cancel switch of the WCD. A user trigger module may permit the patient to perform a deliberate act and, in response, the system may start recording audio from the ambient sounds, including their own voice, and/or start recording the ECG. The deliberate act may even be a voice command by the patient that is parsed by a voice recognition module. The WMS may continuously record audio and then continuously discard it, and further stop the discarding if it detects a recording trigger. The WMS may create an exportable computer file that has audio-related data, which can have playable sound data or transcribed voice data.

摘要: A wearable cardioverter defibrillator (“WCD”) system includes a support structure that can be worn by a patient, and a defibrillator coupled to the support structure. An ECG input, rendered from an ECG of the patient, may meet a primary shock criterion. One or more sensor modules are further provided, which are worn by the patient at different times. The sensor modules may monitor different physiological parameters of the patient, and transmit signals about them. The WCD system further has a multi-sensor interface to receive the transmitted signals, and a processor to determine from them whether a secondary shock criterion is met. If both the primary and the secondary shock criteria are met, the decision is to shock. The signals increase specificity of the detection, while the patient can wear different modules depending on context.

摘要: In embodiments, a wearable medical system (WMS) for an ambulatory patient, which can be a wearable cardioverter defibrillator (WCD) system, analyzes the patient's ECG signal to generate a detection outcome. The WMS also has an ambulatory user interface that outputs a human-visible indication. A programming device, such as a PC, a tablet, etc., establishes a communication link with the WMS during an in-person session with the patient. The programming device may include a programming screen that reproduces the human-visible indication in real time. An advantage can be that the person programming the WMS need not strain to look also at the ambulatory user interface at the time they are looking at the programming device. Another advantage can be that the patient will recognize that he or she is better protected, and have their confidence in the WMS increased, and therefore better comply with wearing the WMS as required.

摘要: Embodiments of a wearable cardioverter defibrillator (WCD) system include a support structure for wearing by an ambulatory patient, a posture detector and at least one processor. When worn, the support structure maintains electrodes on the patient's body, and using the posture detector and the patient's ECG received via the electrodes, the processor determines the patient's posture, formulates posture-based templates of QRS complexes, and the patient's heart rate. The processor can use these determinations to distinguish between VT and SVT and make no-shock, and shock decisions.

摘要: A method for a wearable cardioverter defibrillator (WCD) system comprises sensing one or more patient parameters from different parts of a body of the patient by the one or more transducers, obtaining a plurality of physiological inputs from the sensed one or more patient parameters, detecting first aspects from each of at least some of the physiological inputs, generating an aggregated first aspect from at least two of the detected first aspects, determining an aggregate analysis score from the aggregated first aspect, and determining whether the aggregate analysis score meets an aggregate shock criterion. The electrical charge is discharged within six minutes from when it is determined that the aggregate shock criterion is met, otherwise the electrical charge is not discharged for at least 19 minutes from when it is determined that the aggregate shock criterion is not met.

摘要: In one embodiment, a wearable cardioverter defibrillator (WCD) is described. The WCD includes a support structure that may be worn by a patient. A processor is coupled to the support structure. The wearable cardioverter defibrillator also includes a discharge circuit configured to discharge a stored electrical charge through a body of the patient, the discharge circuit in communication with the processor. The processor may be configured to detect an event occurring at the WCD and determine a severity of the event occurring at the WCD. The processor may activate a multi-sensory alarm based at least in part on the determined event severity.
