    摘要: A display device is provided, decreasing the influence of reflected incident/ambient light caused by patterned bus lines therein, wherein a backlight is disposed at a back side of a substrate comprising common electrodes and color filters, and images are viewed at a side of another substrate comprising pixel electrodes and thin film transistors. A layer (low-reflection layer) with an optical reflectivity lower than that of bus lines, is disposed in a buffer film formed between a viewing side of a glass substrate and an insulating film where the bus lines 4a are disposed. The low-reflection layer is patterned with the same shape as those of the bus lines and covers the bus lines. The incident/ambient light via the glass substrate is shielded by the low-reflection layer and does not arrive at the bus lines.

    摘要: An object of the invention is to provide a pixel electrode and a liquid crystal display device using it, which can reduce improper reflected light. A pixel electrode 1 for applying a voltage for each pixel. This pixel electrode comprises: a reflective area portion 1r reflecting a light ray from a display screen side in such a manner that the light ray is along a predetermined bidirectional optical path within a pixel; a transmissive area portion 1t transmitting a light ray from a rear side to the display screen side in such a manner that the light ray is along a predetermined unidirectional optical path within the pixel; and a transition area portion 1TR being formed between the reflective area portion 1r and the transmissive area portion 1t and including a portion 4c in which the reflective area portion 1r and the transmissive area portion 1t are coupled. The transition area portion 1TR is extended with an at least partly rounded shape on a plan view.

    摘要: In a gray-scale liquid crystal display panel of the type wherein first and second transparent substrates (1, 5) are disposed in parallel with liquid crystal (7) sealed in a space defined therebetween, the second substrate (5) is coated all over its inside surface with a transparent common electrode (6) and the first substrate (1) has on its inside surface pixels arranged in a matrix form and thin film transistors (8) each provided near one of the pixels, the pixels each include first and second spaced-apart subpixel electrodes (4.sub.1, 4.sub.2) formed on one side of an insulating layer (15) provided on the inside surface of the first substrate and a control capacitor electrode (2) formed on the other side of the insulating layer and covering the gap (GP) and overlapping the first and second subpixel electrodes (4.sub.1, 4.sub.2) over predetermined areas thereof. The first subpixel electrode (4.sub.1), the control capacitor electrode (2) and the second subpixel electrode (4.sub.2) constitute first, second and third liquid crystal capacitors (C.sub.LC1, C.sub.LC2, C.sub.LC3) between them and the common electrode (6) facing them. The first subpixel electrode (4.sub.1) and the control capacitor electrode (2) are coupled via a first control capacitor (C.sub.LC1), and the control capacitor electrode (2) and the second subpixel electrode (4.sub.2) are coupled via a second control capacitor (C.sub.LC2). The drain electrode of the thin film transistor is connected directly to the first subpixel electrode.

    摘要: Each pixel electrode of a liquid crystal display device is divided into a plurality of subpixel electrodes, which are separated by a gap from each other, and a control capacitor electrode is provided opposite at least one of the subpixel electrodes through a first insulating film. The control capacitor electrode has a region extending the entire length of the gap so that a drive voltage can be applied to liquid crystal in the gap. The control capacitor electrode forms a control capacitor connected in series with a liquid crystal capacitor formed by the above-mentioned least one subpixel electrode between it and a common electrode corresponding thereto. An additional capacitor electrode, which is opposite the at least one subpixel electrode through a second insulating film, is formed, by which is formed an additional capacitor equivalently in parallel to the liquid crystal capacitor.
