    摘要: In an automatic transmission for a vehicle having an input rotational member, an output rotational member, a rotational speed change gear mechanism, clutches and brakes for changing a route of transmittance of torque between the input rotational member and the output rotational member through the rotational speed change gear mechanism in accordance with selective engagement and disengagement of the clutches and brakes so as to provide a plurality of forward speed stages and a reverse stage, a first one of the clutches is constructed to house a second one of the clutches at a radially inside thereof with a piston member of the first clutch serving as a member for transmitting torque through the second clutch, the second clutch being never engaged immediately after disengagement of the first clutch under any operating condition of the vehicle.

    摘要: A flywheel with a torsional damper having two kinds of spring mechanisms, one spring mechanism directly connecting driving and driven side flywheels and the other spring mechanism connecting the driviing and driven side flywheels via a friction mechanism. By this arrangement, the flywheel has two vibrational characteristics between which vibrational operation of the flywheel can shift depending on whether the friction mechanism slides. The flywheel can pass through its resonance speed by shifting its operation from one vibrational characteristic to the other without being accompanied by a large amplification of vibration. In addition, since sliding at the friction mechanism occurs only briefly, a good damping effect can be obtained at the usual range of engine operating speeds unlike a prior art flywheel with a continuously sliding hysteresis mechanism.

    摘要: In a four wheel drive vehicle, wherein either a state where differential action between front wheels and rear wheels is restricted or a permitted state can be selected, the differential rate is calculated during stable running conditions, and, when the differential rate is greater than or equal to a predetermined value, the restriction of differential action is prohibited. As a result, power circulation can be prevented when there is a difference in effective radius between the front wheels and rear wheels due to, e.g., use of a temper tire, mounting of chains on the tires, or the like.

    摘要: A diagnostic apparatus for a continuously variable transmission the speed ratio and/or the rate of variation in the speed ratio of which are controlled by a shift-regulating device controlled by command signals from a control system.     摘要: A hydraulic control apparatus for controlling a hydraulically-operated power transmitting system for an automotive vehicle, the power transmitting system including a continuously variable transmission and an auxiliary transmission coupled to the continuously variable transmission. The auxiliary transmission has a first and a second forward-drive position relating to a high and a low speed range, respectively, which high and low speed ranges are selected by an operator controlled shift lever. The hydraulic control apparatus comprises a shift valve controlled by an electric control signal so as to be placed selectively in one of a high-range position and a low-range position to place the auxiliary transmission in the first and second forward-drive positions, respectively. The control apparatus further comprise a lock device for holding the shift valve in the high-range position, irrespective of the electric control signal, while the high speed range is selected by the shift lever.
