    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may receive positioning information for a first user equipment (UE), the first UE supporting sidelink communications via a sidelink interface with one or more roadside units. The base station may identify that a second UE is associated with the first UE, the association between the first UE and the second UE satisfying a threshold and the second UE supporting sidelink-assisted positioning. The base station may provide, to a network entity, a message indicating the positioning information for the first UE and identifying the first UE and the second UE.

    Abstract: A sidelink-based positioning session is initiated by a user equipment (UE) with an indication that the positioning session will be a unicast session using a single protocol design that supports both Long-Term Evolution (LTE) and New Radio deployments. An initiator UE may provide an explicit indication to a target UE that the sidelink positioning session will be unicast using a unicast flag in an initial sidelink positioning initiation message or in a direct link establishment request message. The initiator UE may provide an implicit indication to a target UE that the sidelink positioning session will be unicast by initiating an Authentication & Security procedure, e.g., by sending a direct link authentication request, after sending the initial sidelink positioning initiation message.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which two or more UEs of a wireless communications system may establish a sidelink connection. A first UE that is initiating sidelink communications may evaluate whether the sidelink connection can support a quality of service (QoS) for a data flow prior to admitting the data flow. The first UE may evaluate a link quality with one or more other UEs that are to use the data flow on the sidelink connection, evaluate system congestion of time/frequency resources that are available for the sidelink connection, or any combinations thereof, and admit the data flow based on the evaluation. A link quality of the sidelink connection may be determined based on a type of communication associated with the data flow, such as unicast communications with one other UE, multicast communications with multiple other UEs, or broadcast transmissions to multiple UEs.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE), may receive, at a processing layer of the UE, sets of discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle parameters from a corresponding set of applications at an application layer of the UE. The UE may determine, based on the sets of DRX parameters, a common DRX cycle to satisfy each of the sets of applications. The UE may transmit the common DRX cycle to one or more layers in the user plane protocol stack of the UE. A base station may also receive a request, from the UE, for a set of DRX cycle parameters that satisfies the common DRX cycle of the UE. The base station may transmit an indication of the set of DRX parameters, and receive, from the UE, a confirmation of a DRX cycle associated with the set of DRX cycle parameters.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support mechanisms for sidelink feedback reporting over an unlicensed spectrum in a wireless communication system. In aspects, a transmitting UE monitors for a feedback response for a sidelink transmission from one or more receiving UEs at each feedback occasion of a sidelink feedback window. A receiving UE attempts to transmit the feedback response by performing a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure at each feedback occasion of the sidelink feedback window. In aspects, the sidelink feedback window may be defined as a plurality of sidelink feedback occasions, or may be defined as a duration of an LBT timer covering a plurality of sidelink feedback occasions. The receiving UE stops attempting to transmit the feedback response once the receiving UE successfully performs an LBT procedure at a feedback occasion, and the transmitting UE stops monitoring for a feedback response a feedback response is successfully received.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure to techniques for sidelink discovery in millimeter wave (e.g., Frequency Range 2 (FR2), or 24.25 GHz to 52.6 GHz) bands. For example, the disclosed techniques provides generating a sidelink discovery message including device information of the UE and non-device information. The sidelink discovery message is outputted for transmission. A sidelink connection with a receiver (Rx) UE can then be established after the output of the sidelink discovery message. Very often, beam training is required for FR2 communications. After beam sweep, the transmitter (Tx) UE and the Rx UE become aware of the primary beam directions and need to discover each other on a device level, by associating a beam pair link to a peer UE. As FR2 link often have high overhead to establish and maintain, the disclosed techniques enables device level and service level discovery using the discover message.
