Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for processing an electronic image corresponding to a specimen. One method for processing the electronic image includes: receiving a target electronic image of a slide corresponding to a target specimen, the target specimen including a tissue sample from a patient, applying a machine learning system to the target electronic image to determine deficiencies associated with the target specimen, the machine learning system having been generated by processing a plurality of training images to predict stain deficiencies and/or predict a needed recut, the training images including images of human tissue and/or images that are algorithmically generated; and based on the deficiencies associated with the target specimen, determining to automatically order an additional slide to be prepared.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes accessing a digital pathology image that depicts a tissue sample from a subject under a treatment, detecting tertiary lymphoid structures depicted within the digital pathology image of the tissue sample based on a machine-learning model, determining descriptive information associated with the detected tertiary lymphoid structures for the detected tertiary lymphoid structures, wherein the descriptive information comprises at least a maturation state associated with each of the detected tertiary lymphoid structures, and determining an outcome of the subject in response to the treatment based on the detected tertiary lymphoid structures and the descriptive information.

Abstract: A method and system for determining a dose of modulation (DOM) profile are provided. The method may include obtaining a 3D image and a topogram image of the object. The method may further include obtaining a dose of modulation (DOM) profile generation model. The DOM profile generation model may be generated by training a preliminary model based on a plurality of sample CT images, a plurality of sample 3D images corresponding to the plurality of sample CT images, respectively, and a plurality of sample topogram images corresponding to the plurality of sample CT images, respectively. The method may further include executing the DOM profile generation model to generate a DOM profile related to a computed tomography (CT) scan of the object based on the 3D image and the topogram image of the object.

Abstract: Aspects of the technology described herein relate to techniques for guiding an operator to use an ultrasound device. Thereby, operators with little or no experience operating ultrasound devices may capture medically relevant ultrasound images and/or interpret the contents of the obtained ultrasound images. For example, some of the techniques disclosed herein may be used to identify a particular anatomical view of a subject to image with an ultrasound device, guide an operator of the ultrasound device to capture an ultrasound image of the subject that contains the particular anatomical view, and/or analyze the captured ultrasound image to identify medical information about the subject.

Abstract: A computer device, obtains a mammographic image of a unilateral breast. The mammographic image includes a cranial-caudal (CC)-position mammographic image and a mediolateral-oblique (MLO)-position mammographic image. The computer device invokes a breast detection model to perform a prediction of a condition of the unilateral breast according to the CC-position mammographic image and the MLO-position mammographic image. The device obtains a prediction result of the unilateral breast, and generates and outputs a detection report that includes the prediction result.

Abstract: There is provided a method for generating a 3D physical model of a patient specific anatomic feature from 2D medical images. The 2D medical images are uploaded by an end-user via a Web Application and sent to a server. The server processes the 2D medical images and automatically generates a 3D printable model of a patient specific anatomic feature from the 2D medical images using a segmentation technique. The 3D printable model is 3D printed as a 3D physical model such that it represents a 1:1 scale of the patient specific anatomic feature. The method includes the step of automatically identifying the patient specific anatomic feature.

Abstract: An example method includes capturing, via an x-ray machine, a plurality of x-ray images of a patient covering a number of different anatomy of the patient in any order, using a machine learning algorithm to process the plurality of x-ray images for identification of an anatomy in respective x-ray images of the plurality of x-ray images, associating a label with each of the plurality of x-ray images based on the identification of the anatomy, positioning each of the plurality of x-ray images upright based on a preset coordinate scheme for the anatomy, arranging the plurality of x-ray images into a predetermined order based on the species of the patient, and generating and outputting a data file including the plurality of x-ray images in the predetermined order, positioned upright, and labeled.

Abstract: The disclosed technology is directed towards presenting a medical practitioner with information that assists the practitioner in communicating with a given patient. Baseline data describing a medical patient is obtained, such as from one or more previous visits. The baseline data can be compared with current data, e.g., sensed by patient biosensors and/or discerned from a current video of the patient during the visit. Historical and/or known healthy data can be used as baseline data. Interaction data representing an interaction (e.g., a conversation during a current visit) between the medical practitioner and the medical patient is determined. Based on the baseline data and the interaction data, during the interaction between the medical practitioner and the medical patient the medical practitioner can be presented with coaching data to assist the medical practitioner in communicating with the patient.
