Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure are generally directed to techniques for selecting a configuration for communication using vehicle to everything (V2X) type communication protocol. Certain aspects provide a method for wireless communication by a user-equipment (UE). The method generally includes determining one or more parameters corresponding to quality of service (QoS) information for communication of data using a V2X communication protocol, reporting the one or more parameters by transmitting a first message, receiving a second message indicating configuration information corresponding to the communication of the data using the V2X communication protocol, and communication the data based on the configuration information.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device that uses a first radio access technology (RAT) may identify a transmission timing scheme for a shared radio frequency spectrum band, the transmission timing scheme comprising a first set of time intervals allocated for transmissions using a first RAT and a second set of time intervals allocated for transmissions using a second RAT. The wireless device may transmit, during a time interval of the first set of time intervals, a channel reservation signal indicating an end time of the time interval and indicating that the wireless device uses the first RAT. The wireless device may transmit, based at least in part on the transmitted channel reservation signal, over the shared radio frequency spectrum band during at least a portion of the time interval before the end time of the time interval.

Abstract: Techniques described herein provide for enhanced determination of a V2X communication range based on sensor information obtained at a V2X device. According to embodiments, a V2X device can obtain sensor information regarding a detected object and determine a communication range for a V2X message transmitted by the V2X device based on one or more detected properties of the detected object. The V2X message itself may contain information regarding the one or more detected properties of the detected object, as well as information indicative of the location of the V2X device and the determined communication range.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described to support configuring a user equipment (UE) operating in unlicensed spectrum with a set of component carriers (CCs) for sidelink communications using the unlicensed spectrum. In a first example, a UE may select a CC from the set of candidate CCs, for example, using a carrier selection configuration, and may select a resource in the CC for a sidelink communication. In a second example, a UE may select multiple candidate resources for a sidelink communication, for example, using a resource selection configuration and based on sensing performed by the UE. To indicate the reservation of a candidate resource, the UE may indicate both a CC in which the reserved resource is located and a location of the reserved resource within the carrier. The UE may transmit a sidelink message using a selected candidate resource in the unlicensed spectrum.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify a duty cycle function corresponding to a duty cycle range. In some cases, the UE may determine the duty cycle function based on a congestion metric. The UE may identify a bandwidth allocation for the UE and may determine a duty cycle within the duty cycle range based on the duty cycle function and the bandwidth allocation. In some cases, the UE may identify one or more of the duty cycle function, the congestion metric, the duty cycle range, or the bandwidth allocation based on control signaling from a base station. The UE may transmit a packet within the bandwidth allocation in accordance with the duty cycle.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A first user equipment (UE) may monitor various sensors to obtain data associated with a user of the first UE, and may determine that the user is in a vulnerable state based on monitoring these sensors. The vulnerable state of the user may include an inebriated state, a distracted state, an impaired state, or a disabled state, among other examples. After detecting the vulnerable state of the user, the first UE may transmit a public safety message (PSM) to other devices in the area. Upon receiving the PSM from the UE, a network entity may use positioning information to identify other UEs within a threshold distance of the first UE, and may transmit an alert message to these UEs. The techniques described herein may reduce the probability of nearby pedestrians or vehicles colliding with the user.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a message indicating that a base station supports allocating resources for sidelink communications using a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second RAT that is different from the first RAT. The UE may transmit a sidelink information message to the base station using the first RAT that indicates that sidelink communications are to be performed using either the second RAT or both the first RAT and the second RAT. The UE may receive a configuration message from the base station that comprises an identifier for the sidelink communications and an indication of available sidelink resources. The UE may transmit, based at least in part on the configuration message, a request for resources within the available sidelink resources, the request indicating the identifier and a buffer status report (BSR).

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for wireless in-vehicle networking. A method that may be performed by a device in a vehicle includes wirelessly transmitting a data packet directly via a first device-to-device (D2D) communication link to another device in the vehicle; monitoring for an acknowledgment (ACK) of the data packet; deciding whether to retransmit the data packet to the other device, based on the monitoring; and wirelessly transmitting the data packet to a transmission relay, wherein an intended destination of the data packet is the other device, wherein the monitoring for the ACK comprises monitoring for a first ACK from the other device and a second ACK from the transmission relay.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The method, system, and apparatus may include managing the operation mode of a user equipment in vehicle-to-everything communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may transmit an inactive request message (or a request message) to a base station to indicate the user equipment is switching from a base station scheduling mode (or a radio access network node scheduling mode) to a peer user equipment scheduling mode (or a roadside unit scheduling mode). The user equipment may receive an acknowledgment message from the base station indicating a state change to allow the peer user equipment scheduling mode. In some cases, the user equipment may receive an area identifier from the base station, and the area identifier may indicate an area where the peer user equipment scheduling mode is allowed.
