Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, a user equipment (UE) may indicate one or more uplink beams that the UE is capable of generating where grating and main lobes of the one or more uplink beams satisfy a permissible exposure constraint. The UE may operate in an intra-band or inter-band carrier aggregation (CA) mode, and the UE may indicate an uplink beam per band of the CA mode that the UE is capable of generating to satisfy the permissible exposure constraint. Frequency dependent beam training may be initiated by the base station to support intra-band CA modes and inter-band CA modes. The base station may indicate a frequency band and uplink beam to the UE, and the UE may indicate one or more parameter values that the UE may use to generate the uplink beam in the band that satisfies the permissible exposure constraints.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, an originator UE transmits a sidelink beam training (BT) reference signal (BTRS) a first number of times on each of a first set of beams, and a sidelink discovery message a second number of times on each of a second set of beams, wherein each beam from the second set of beams is associated with at least one beam from the first set of beams (e.g., 1:1 or N:1 mapping of first set of beams to second set of beams). At least one responder UE responds by transmitting, after the transmission of the sidelink BTRSs and the sidelink discovery messages, a BT response signal and a sidelink discovery response message on a beam corresponding to one of the first set of beams.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques enable a first wireless device (e.g., an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node in an IAB system) or a network entity (e.g., a centralized unit (CU) in the IAB system) to select a set of wireless devices for communication. The first wireless device, the CU, or both may select the set of wireless devices for communication based on a pathloss mode of the first wireless device, whether an angular separation between a group of nodes (e.g., one or more of the set of wireless devices) is less than an angular separation threshold, or both. The first wireless device may communicate with the set of wireless devices with one or more communications beams. For example, the device may communicate with multiple wireless devices using a single communication beam if the angular separation between the multiple devices is relatively low.

The wireless node may forward at least a portion of user-plane traffic between the child wireless node and the first base station via the second connection and the second base station. A user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station, a request for uplink reference signal resources for a beam training procedure. The UE may receive, in response to the transmitted request, control signaling identifying the uplink reference signal resources for the beam training procedure. The UE may transmit, using a set of multiple of beams, reference signals on the identified uplink reference signal resources and receive, in response to the transmitted reference signals, an indication of beam parameters for a beam at the UE. The UE may communicate with the base station using the beam at the UE according to the beam parameters.

Abstract: Independent ranging sessions that are initiated by multiple initiating user equipments (UEs) are detected and combined into a single combined ranging session to reduce overhead. The independent ranging sessions may be determined to be nearby and concurrent when a UE detects a number of ranging cycles within a predetermined time. The UE may send messages to each initiator UE indicating that the ranging sessions should be combined and the initiator UEs will terminated initiating any further ranging sessions. Combined ranging session may be initiated by the UE and may include all of the participating UEs from the independent ranging sessions. The combined ranging session continues until it is determined that one or more UEs in the combined ranging session are not receiving ranging signals from other UEs.

The first UE may select a subset of transmit beams from the set of transmit beams for the sidelink beam sweep procedure based on one or more parameters associated with the sidelink beam measurement configuration. The first UE may then transmit, to a second UE (e.g., Rx UE) during the sidelink beam sweep procedure, a set of sidelink reference signals using respective transmit beams of the subset of transmit beams.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for initiating beam training in systems that use beamformed wireless communications. A user equipment (UE) and a base station may establish communications using a first beam, and the UE may determine that a signal quality of the first beam is lower than a threshold value and that a beam training procedure is to be initiated. The UE may transmit a beam training request to initiate the beam training procedure, which may be transmitted as part of a bit sequence that is used to transmit uplink control information to the base station, such as with acknowledgment/negative-acknowledgment feedback, a scheduling request, or other uplink control information.

A user equipment (UE) may select, based at least in part on a sensor selection criteria, a first subset of sensors from a set of available sensors of the UE, each sensor in the set of available sensors associated with a sensor type. The UE may perform, using the first subset of sensors, sensing operations to obtain a first sensing data, the first sensing data comprising sensing data measured by the UE during the sensing operations. The UE may transmit a first sensing report indicating the first sensing data. The UE may receive, based at least in part on the first sensing report, a second sensing report indicating a second sensing data, the second sensing data comprising a unified sensing report based on the first sensing report from the UE and one or more additional sensing reports from other UE.
