Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for sidelink synchronization in a network. A method that may be performed by a remote user equipment (UE) includes determining at least one synchronization priority associated with synchronization signals for synchronizing to a network, determining relay capability information associated with multiple relay UEs, selecting one relay UE of the multiple relay UEs, based on the synchronization priority and relay capability, and synchronizing to the network using at least one synchronization signal received from the selected one relay UE.

Abstract: A network access node including a transceiver coupled to a sidelink receiver user equipment (UE) (or to a sidelink transmitter UE) is disclosed. The network access node may obtain a network access interface discontinuous reception (DRX) slot offset value (or a sidelink interface DRX slot offset value) corresponding to a shift in a network access interface DRX Active state start time (or a sidelink interface DRX Active state start time) of the receiver UE. The shift may configure an alignment of a sidelink interface DRX Active state start time (or the network access interface DRX Active state start time) with the network access interface DRX Active state start time (or the sidelink interface DRX Active state start time). The network access interface DRX (or sidelink interface DRX) slot offset value may be transmitted to the receiver UE.

The method may further include receiving, from the second user equipment at the first user equipment via the sidelink interface, sidelink DRX configuration information, wherein the sidelink DRX configuration information is based on the DRX configuration assistance information, and transmitting, from the first user equipment to the network over the air interface, the sidelink DRX configuration information. The method may include receiving, from the network at the first user equipment, modified air interface DRX configuration information for the first user equipment.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for sidelink discovery message forwarding. In some implementations, a first user equipment (UE) may receive a discovery message from a second UE. The discovery message may be part of a beam training procedure between the first UE and the second UE. The first UE may forward the discovery message to one or more other UEs based on a condition associated with one or more forwarding termination parameters being satisfied. The first UE may, in some implementations, select one of a broadcast transmission or a unicast transmission for forwarding the discovery message based on one or more parameters associated with the UE. The first UE may transmit the discovery message from the second UE to the one or more other UEs using the selected broadcast or unicast transmission when the condition is satisfied.

Abstract: For each UE (TxUE) in discontinuous reception (DRX) in sidelink (SL) with each second UE(RxUE), and in communication over an air interface (Uu) with a gNB, determining a TxUE Uu active time. Further determining a TxUE Uu offset time accounting for TxUE processing of both a TxUE SL grant from the gNB and data for SL transmission to each RxUE. The TxUE Uu offset time is greater than or equal to a minimum TxUE Uu offset time. Further determining, for each RxUE, one or more RxUE SL active times, each RxUE SL active time: starting no earlier than a start of the TxUE Uu active time plus the TxUE Uu offset time for a TxUE from which the each RxUE is to receive data, and ending no later than the end of the TxUE Uu active time for a TxUE from which the each RxUE is to receive data.
