Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Transport blocks may be scheduled using a single downlink control information (DCI) message. A wireless device may identify mapping pattern for mapping the transport blocks and repetitions of the transport blocks to communication resources. Mapping the transport blocks, or determining a mapping of the transport blocks, to communication resources may include partitioning the communication resources into subunits, where each subunit includes resources spread across each subband of a frequency hopping pattern and at least one instance of each of the scheduled transport blocks.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, radio resource control (RRC) signaling indicating a number of padding bits in multicast downlink control information (DCI). The UE may receive, from the base station, a multicast DCI message that includes a set of fields to indicate a set of communication parameters. The UE may interpret the multicast DCI message that indicates the set of communication parameters based at least in part on the number of padding bits indicated by the RRC signaling. Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support control of feedback reporting associated with broadcast or multicast transmissions based on indications of non-numerical K1 (NNK1) in associated transmission grants. In aspects, a base station transmits multicast transmission grants that include NNK1s to a set of UEs. The UEs in the set of UEs generate feedback codebooks, for the multicast transmissions, and holds transmission of the codebooks, based on the NNK1 received in the transmission grants until a report triggering event occurs. In aspects, the report triggering event includes receiving a subsequent multicast transmission grant with a valid K1, receiving a subsequent unicast transmission grant with valid K1, or receiving a UE-specific multicast retransmission grant. In aspects, the UEs use the valid K1 in the triggering event to determine a feedback resource to transmit the held feedback codebooks. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) (e.g., an enhanced machine type communication (EMTC) UE) may identify several narrowbands associated with eMTC protocol based on a system bandwidth of a New Radio (NR) carrier. A base station may transmit an indication of a set of valid narrowbands for eMTC (e.g., based on coexistence considerations between eMTC and NR) to the UE. The base station may further transmit a frequency hopping pattern to the UE (e.g., associated with narrowbands within the set of valid narrowbands), and transmit one or more downlink transmissions according to the frequency hopping pattern. Additionally or alternatively, a base station may identify a subcarrier offset and/or resource block offset between resources (e.g., a resource grid) used for eMTC protocol and resources used for NR. The base station may transmit a frequency alignment parameter to the UE, and the UE may align narrowbands for eMTC accordingly.

A method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) may include: receiving a multicast bandwidth part configuration for multicast communications between a base station and the UE, where the multicast bandwidth part configuration includes a maximum number of multiple-input, multiple-output layers to be used for the multicast communications; establishing a multicast link with the base station for multicast communications; determining to use a reduced number of antennas for multicast reception than the number of antennas used for unicast reception, or determining that the UE is able to decode the multicast communications prior to a remaining portion of the multicast communications; and receiving the multicast communications via the reduced number of antennas, or reducing the radio frequency power prior to completion of a number of repetitions or retransmissions of the multicast communications.

A user equipment (UE) may receive an acknowledgment feedback configuration for providing feedback for semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) downlink shared channels (e.g., SPS group-common physical downlink shared channels (PDSCHs), SPS unicast PDSCHs, etc.). For example, the acknowledgment feedback configuration may include separate resources for transmitting acknowledgment feedback for unicast downlink shared channels and for transmitting acknowledgment feedback for group-common downlink shared channels or may include common resources for transmitting acknowledgment feedback for both unicast downlink shared channels and group-common downlink shared channels. In some examples, the UE may multiplex acknowledgment feedback for a set of group-common downlink shared channels with additional acknowledgment feedback for other downlink channels.

The method includes receiving, from a base station and at the UE of a group of UEs, control signaling indicating a link between a first search space set and a second search space set used for a multicast broadcast service, where a first downlink control channel for the group of UEs is transmitted in the first search space set and a second downlink control channel is transmitted in the second search space set, monitoring the first search space set for a first instance of control information in the first downlink control channel and the second search space set for a second instance of the control information in the second downlink control channel, and decoding the first instance or the second instance of the control information, or both, based on the monitoring.
