摘要: A method for performing a low energy pulse testing in a power distribution network that causes contacts to close and then open in about one fundamental frequency cycle of current flow time and close on a voltage waveform that produces symmetrical fault current. The method includes energizing a magnetic actuator to move the actuator against the bias of a spring to move a movable contact towards a fixed contact. The method also includes de-energizing the actuator when the movable contact makes contact with the fixed contact so as to allow the spring to move the movable contact away from the fixed contact so that the amount of time that the current conducts is about one fundamental frequency cycle of the current, where energizing the magnetic actuator occurs when an applied voltage on the switch assembly is at a peak of the voltage wave so that the current is symmetric.

摘要: Magnetic orientation-independent magnetically actuated switches may be made by producing an outer cylinder and an actuator cylinder from ferromagnetic sheets and non-ferromagnetic sheets in alternating order. A first ferromagnetic body is attached to an end of the outer cylinder. The actuator cylinder is positioned within a first bore of the outer cylinder, the actuator pin is positioned within a second bore of the actuator cylinder and a third bore of the first ferromagnetic body with a portion of the actuator pin extending beyond the third bore of the first ferromagnetic body. A second ferromagnetic body is attached to the portion of the actuator pin, thus forming the magnetic orientation-independent magnetically operated switch.

摘要: An activation device for transmitting a user input to a control device has an engaging element that forms a first housing part and a feeding element that forms a second housing part. The engaging element has a push magnet, whose magnetic field extends into the feeding element and the feeding element has a push magnet that can be displaced without contact through exposure to the magnetic field. The engaging push magnet can be displaced in the direction of the feeding element by pressure-activating the activation device, and is set up to exert a magnetic force on a corresponding feeding push magnet. The engaging element and feeding element each have at least one rotating magnet that can be displaced parallel to an intermediate plane running between them. The engaging rotating magnet of the engaging element exerts a magnetic force on a corresponding feeding rotating magnet of the feeding element.

A distance 31 between an end portion of the first movable portion 16 or the second movable portion 17 and an end portion of the stopper portion 18 in the upper layer and a distance 32 between an end portion of the first movable portion 16 or the second movable portion 17 and an end portion of the stopper portion 18 in the lower layer are different from each other.

摘要: Systems and methods are described for operating an imaging system that includes an intra-oral imaging sensor and an electronic processor. The intra-oral imaging sensor includes a housing, an image sensing component at least partially housed within the housing, and a multi-dimensional sensor at least partially housed within the housing. The electronic processor is configured to receive an output of the multi-dimensional sensor indicative of movement of the intra-oral imaging sensor. The output is compared to predetermined movement criteria indicative of a type of movement and, in response to determining that the type of movement of the imaging sensor has occurred, the electronic processor alters the operation of the imaging system.

摘要: An electro-permanent magnet (EPM) key assembly of an information handling system may comprise a pair of scissor plates operably connected to a base contact assembly including an EPM such that each of the pair of scissor plates may rotate away from one another in the presence of downward force on a key cap situated atop the pair of scissor plates for actuation of the EPM key assembly; the EPM comprising a low-coercivity magnet and a high-coercivity magnet; wherein an application of a first current pulse applied to an electrically conductive wire coiled around the low-coercivity magnet places the EPM in a first on state to assert a first magnetic field on a ferromagnetic flange operatively coupled to rotate with at least one scissor plate about a hinge; and wherein an application of a second current pulse applied to the electrically conductive wire places the EPM in a second on state to increase the magnetic field on the ferromagnetic flange.

The reed switch electrically connects to the control circuit. The reed switch generates an electric signal indicating that the mailbox door is open. The control circuit monitors the reed switch. The control circuit transmits a message to the personal data device when the control circuit detects the electric signal indicating that the mailbox door is open.
