摘要: A system (100) and a method (300) for detecting brake fading in a vehicle. The system (100) includes at least one sensor (140-143) configured to gather data about at least one brake (110-113) in a vehicle (105), a braking system (130), a braking system sensor (145) configured to gather data about the braking system (130), and an electronic controller (150) configured to receive data from at least one selected from the group consisting of the at least one sensor (140-143) and the braking system sensor (145), and determine, based on the data, a level of brake fading of the vehicle (105). The method (300) comprises receiving (305), with an electronic controller (150), data from at least one of the group consisting of at least one sensor (140-143) and a braking system sensor (145); and determining (310), with the electronic controller (150), a level of brake fading of a vehicle (105) based upon the data.

摘要: A method for identifying a fault in a brake assembly of a motor vehicle, including: ascertaining a first estimated value of a brake temperature based on an applied brake pressure; registering a series of measured temperature values by a temperature sensor spaced from the brake assembly; determining a second estimated value of the brake temperature based on the series of measured temperature values; comparing the first estimated value and the second estimated value; and deciding, based on the comparing of the first and second estimated values, whether there is a fault. Also described is a related motor vehicle braking system.

摘要: An electric disc brake system for a trailer. The brake system employs a caliper assembly that is attached to the trailer with floating fasteners, wherein the caliper assembly straddles an axle mounted rotor positioning an inner and outer brake pad adjacent to the rotor. A screw drive assembly is attached to the caliper. The assembly includes an electric motor coupled to a piston by a threaded shaft. The screw drive assembly converts rotation of the electric motor into linear motion to movement of the piston, wherein the inner and outer brake pads engage the rotor based upon the amount of pressure applied by the piston. A controller reacts to the pressure applied to a brake pedal to cause the electric motor to rotate in a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction.

摘要: A braking system for a vehicle includes a first axle attached to a chassis and rotatably supporting two front wheels, with a first brake including a first electronic brake controller for controlling application of braking to the front wheels. A second axle rotatably supports two rear wheels and is detachably connected to the chassis and has a second electronic brake controller and a second brake attached thereto for braking the rear wheels. Each of the electronic brake controllers has an independent power source. The system also includes an electronic park brake controller and parking brake. A vehicle control unit is in communication with each of the electronic brake controllers for coordinating control of the braking system. One or more communications network cables, which may be wired or wireless, connect the electronic brake controllers. An electrical connector allows for swapping the second axle, which requires no fluidic connections.

摘要: An electric hydraulic brake includes: wheel brakes configured to braking force to wheels of a vehicle; a reservoir storing brake oil; a master cylinder connected to the reservoir, and operated in conjunction with a main brake motor to generate pressure of the brake oil; a first controller configured to control the main brake motor; a hydraulic controller including a pump configured to form pressure of the brake oil in conjunction with an auxiliary brake motor, and a hydraulic block configured to selectively transmit the pressure of the brake oil formed in the master cylinder or the pump to the wheel brakes; and a second controller configured to control the auxiliary brake motor when the master cylinder or the first controller malfunctions. The hydraulic controller is provided with an auxiliary flow path to transmit the brake oil from the reservoir to the pump directly through the auxiliary flow path.
