摘要: An arrangement for detecting the passage of living beings into and out of a surveillance region includes optics which concentrate thermal radiation energy from the surveillance region into a detection zone where an active area of a pyroelectric detector is situated and converts the thermal radiation energy received thereby into an electrical signal. An evaluating device evaluates the electrical signal of the detector to provide an indication of either the entry of a living being from the outside into, or the exit of a person from, the surveillance region from a change in the total thermal radiation energy received by the active area from the surveillance region. The optics may incorporate a mask which prevents thermal radiation from the outside of the surveillance region from reaching the active area of the detector. The mask includes a marginal portion which peripherally bounds an opening for the passage of the thermal radiation energy from the surveillance region to the detection zone and which may include at least one serration at the opening for controlling the timing of the electrical signal caused by entry of a living being into an area of the surveillance region corresponding to the serration relative to those caused by entry of a living being into the remainder of the surveillance region.

摘要: External noise in an infrared sensor for a ceiling type human detector is suppressed by increasing the conductivity between a conductive window and the can and improving the temperature compensation by offsetting any difference in the electromotive force per unit area of the inside and/or outside electrode of the sensitive element consisting of coaxial electrodes with different areas. In a pair of electrodes for ceiling mounting the electromotive force is larger than in a pair of lower electrodes for floor mounting. The sensor improves a total sensitivity for use in the infrared sensor for a wall installation type human detector, on account of improving performance and reliability of the pyroelectric infrared sensor for use as a human detector.

摘要: For reducing the susceptibility to false alarms and for increasing the detection probability of a passive infrared detector, the actual signals obtained from a first sensor element are continuously compared in a correlator with reference or set signals stored in a read-only memory and/or with the actual signals obtained from a second sensor element monitoring the near region. The correlator delivers an output signal which corresponds to the correlation of both signals which are compared with one another. An alarm signal is triggered when the correlation exceeds a predetermined value, for instance 0.7, and the amplitude has reached a predetermined threshold. The infrared detector affords high security against giving of false alarms and a high detection probability, even in the presence of signals possessing a great amount of noise, but also delivers an alarm signal in the event the detector is attempted to be sabotaged, for instance by covering the inlet optical system.

摘要: An infrared radiation detector comprises two differentially connected pyroelectric detector elements in parallel-opposition. The detector elements are formed in a single body of pyroelectric material having two adjacent pairs of overlapping electrodes on opposite major surfaces of the body. The two detector elements are poled in the same direction. To electrically connect the top electrodes of each pair to the bottom electrodes of the other pair, each electrode is provided with an L-shaped extension. Each extension is arranged such that at an edge of the body the extension of the top electrode of one pair overlaps the extension of the bottom electrode of the other pair. The overlapping extensions can be electrically connected together by conductive epoxy or by conductive clips on the edge of the body.

摘要: A dual pyroelectric crystal sensor suitable for infrared intruder alarms and the like having two separate closely spaced identical pyroelectric crystal detectors connected in parallel opposition. The sensor includes a single ended field effect transistor amplifier with the entire sensor encapsulated in a TO-5 can. The two crystals each have one end cemented to a ceramic substrate in a cantilevered fashion, permitting shock or vibration to affect each crystal equally. Therefore, voltages due to the piezoelectric responses of the crystals are equal and cancel. If both crystals are irradiated by a common heat source, the pyroelectric generated voltages will cancel. If either crystal is irradiated separately, an output voltage will be produced.

A sensor device may include a housing, a lens inserted into a first opening of the housing, a metal mask covering a portion of the interior of the lens, a passive infrared (PIR) sensor underneath the lens and the metal mask, and a light pipe around the PIR sensor, the lens, and the metal mask. Part of the light pipe may be positioned above an activation mechanism for a button. An airflow gasket may be around the PIR sensor. A filter circuit board may be under the PIR sensor and connected to leads of the PIR sensor. A control circuit board may include the activation mechanism for the button. A backplate may include a slot for attachment to a snap of a magazine in the housing of the sensor device.

摘要: A system and method of maintaining social distancing guidelines with nearby persons allows a user to receive a notification when other people enter within a perimeter around them. A wearable device, especially a belt, equipped with infrared (IR) sensors detects heat signatures of nearby objects. The wearable device subsequently relays this information to the user's mobile electronic device, immediately notifying the user of persons within the predefined radius. The wearable device further differentiates between different distinctly human heat signatures, using artificial intelligence to determine whether a nearby person has the elevated internal temperature that could be attributed to COVID-19, or if the person within the preset radius is asymptomatic. In this way, users may be alerted to dangers approaching from all sides. Users are participants in the global effort to reduce human exposure and help in reducing the distribution of cases to manageable levels.

The method may further include detecting a second pattern of heat transferred from the heat source based on a second sensor dataset corresponding to the second event, detecting the heat source during the second event with respect to the second pattern of heat transfer, and determining a threat level corresponding to a security risk posed by the heat source with respect to the environment.
