摘要: There are provided a dust collector and method for collecting dust in which the rarefaction of a dielectric at the rear part of electric field forming means is prevented, whereby the collecting efficiency can be increased. The dust collector includes charging means 1 for charging a substance to be collected 9, such as dust and mist, contained in a gas; spray means 2 for spraying a dielectric 10 on the substance to be collected 9 charged by the charging means 1; electric field forming means 3, having first and second electrodes 11 and 12 for forming a direct current electric field, for dielectrically polarizing the dielectric 10 sprayed by the spray means 2 by means of the direct current electric field; and dielectric collecting means 16 for collecting the dielectric 10 which has arrested the substance to be collected 9, the spray means 2 being provided with grounding means 17 and 18 for electrically grounding the dielectric 10 before being sprayed to let a charge of the dielectric 10 escape. CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS This application is a Divisional of co-pending U.S. patent application Ser. No. 09/635,430 filed Aug. 10, 2000, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference in their entirety. Thereupon, in the dust collector of embodiment 1, the spray section is formed as shown in FIG. 4. This spray section is configured so that an earth net 17 is disposed in the nozzle 6, and an earth net 18 is disposed at a slightly nulldownstreamnull upstream position from the position where the nozzle 6 is disposed in the pipe 7. When this two fluid nozzle 60 is used, an earth net 20 is disposed at the outlet of the introduction pipe 61, and an earth net 21 is disposed at a slightly nulldownstreamnull upstream position from the position where the nozzle 60 is disposed in the pipe 7. Thereby, the deelectrified dielectric 10 is sprayed from the nozzle 60 as in the case of the nozzle 6 shown in FIG. 4.

摘要: A pleated filter is provided with electrically conductive fibrous material that releases ions to improve trapping efficiency. The edges of folded filter media are rendered emitting as by attaching conductive strings to the edges of the folds. The ends of the fibers in the strings are left exposed and, by applying high voltage on these strings, ions may be produced which charge dust particles to improve the filter's efficiency. Alternately, the pleated medium itself provides ion-emitting fiber ends along folded edges that have been rendered conductive.

摘要: A low density ash particle separation and collection method and device for separating low density particles, primarily frothy-solid particles with internal and external porosity and thick walled hollow particles, from the overall mixture of higher density particles including raw fly ash as produced by coal fired power plants. Specifically, the invention relates to a device and method for separating and collecting the low density fly ash fraction composed of thick walled hollow fly ash particles and frothy generally solid particles with both internal and external porosity and a relatively small amount of cenospheres from the overall mixture of ash particles composing raw ash as produced by coal fired power plants by de-energizing one or more fields of large electrostatic precipitators during electrostatic precipitation of the ash resulting in the dropping out of the lower density particles in the hoppers located below the de-energized field(s) of the electrostatic precipitator.

摘要: The basis of the pollen cleaning method is that the contaminated pollen (6) is sucked by airflow carrying the pollen to the conical part (16) of the separator (3) made of insulating material where pure pollen particles fall through the separator onto the filter (2) while the impurities rotate in electrostatic field generated by separator (3) friction. The device used for implementation of this method consists of a suction unit (1) with a filter (2). To the filter is led the separator outlet (3). In the area of the greatest separator diameter, the outlet of the suction line of a variable diameter is tangentially connected to the separator (3) including a suction part (5) for contaminated pollen (6) suction.
