摘要： A camera dolly has a steering unit which provides conventional, crab, and round steering modes, selected by the operator via use of a single steering/shifting handle. The steering unit includes first and second transmissions and a differential. Chains link sprockets on the transmissions and differential, to steer the wheels of the camera dolly to appropriate angles, so that the dolly can roll easily and without wheel scrubbing. A dolly leg position compensator adjusts the amount of steering angle correction provided by the differential, to compensate for changes in the dolly wheelbase/tread dimensions. Sprockets in the differential are locked into offset positions, during conventional and round steering, to maintain proper steering angle correction, even under heavy loads. Active idlers are mechanically linked within the steering unit to automatically maintain appropriate chain tension, in all steering modes.

The adjustable scraper blade assembly includes a blade bracket, a generally flat scraper blade attachable to the blade bracket, and a shock absorber for the blade during use. The mechanism for controlling the steering and the forward and reverse movement of the vehicle uses a horizontal crossbar rotatably connected at each end to a support on the vehicle. The crossbar's axis of rotation is perpendicular to the forward motion of the vehicle. A generally T-shaped yoke having a cross portion is attached at its center to a straight portion. The other end of the straight portion is rotatably attached to the crossbar. The axis of rotation of the straight portion is perpendicular to the crossbar's axis of rotation. The mechanism uses two linkages connected to each end of the cross portion. The linkages are respectively connected at the other of their ends to the means for controlling the forward and reverse direction of the mechanisms for driving the right and left sides of the vehicle.

A friction mechanism applies to the lever an adjustable rotational resistance against a bias force of a return spring associated with the derailleur. A positioning mechanism includes a positioning member having a plurality of engaging portions for precisely setting the respective speed change stages of the derailleur and an engaging member engageable with at least one of the engaging portions. An operating mechanism selects between an operating mode and a non-operating mode of the positioning mechanism so that the positioning mechanism can be placed in a non-operating mode, when desired, with the speed-change operation being performed in such non-operating mode only with the friction mechanism resisting the return spring.

A shield plate may be provided on the throttle lever to physically block the air flow against the vehicle from flowing directly over the operator's thumb actuating the throttle. Heating elements may be provided to heat a cover on the throttle lever which in turn heats the driver's hand. Heat controlling circuits to effectively reduce the heating input at high temperatures, multiple circuits for both rapid and slow heating and circuitry associated with the vehicle lighting switches may be employed.
