The first portion includes a light incidence surface facing the light source for entry of light emitted from the light source, and the light incidence surface is convexly curved widthwise of the light guide member. The second portion includes a light exit surface oriented toward the image read line for emitting light toward the image read line. The connecting portion is narrower than the first portion and the second portion.
Abstract:
An analysis device for reading and processing information media. The device includes a medium feeder, an optical reader, and an information processor for processing, converting, and transmitting the information as digital data. The optical reader comprises an image detector (15) of elongate shape suspended in a casing (1,2,3) and having, at its ends, mounting ribs (20) interacting with complementary inclined mounting furrows (21) provided in the corresponding end walls (2,3) of the casing, elastic members (23) interposed between the image detector (15) and the casing (1,2,3); and an entrainer for moving the information medium past the image detector (15). The entrainer includes a roll (17) and an electric motor (50) for rotating the roll (17). The roll (17) is mounted in the end walls (2,3) of the casing (1,2,3) by latches (37,38), holding the image detector (15) in the casing (1,2,3). The elastic members (23), in turn, apply the image detector (15) against the surface of the roll (17).
Abstract:
There is provided an image sensor in which an enlargement of a substrate width is not caused even in a case that a rod-shaped light source is provided on both sides of a resin lens plate, respectively, and in which a positional accuracy of component is superior. The image sensor comprises a rod-shaped light source for irradiating light to an original placed on an original glass plate, an imaging optics for focusing light reflected on the original, and a light-receiving element for receiving light passing through the imaging optics, the light-receiving element being positioned at a predetermined location on a substrate which is provided with through holes for terminals of lead frames of the rod-shaped light source. The terminals of lead frames of the rod-shaped light source are bent toward the center of the substrate to be connected with the through holes.
Abstract:
An illuminator includes a light guide having a circular cross-section, a scatterer that is provided on a portion of the circumference of the circular cross-section and that radiates scattering light toward the inside of the light guide, and a condensing lens that condenses light emitted from the light guide and transforms the light into a linear beam, a planar beam, or a point-like beam. In the illuminator light from the light source is effectively utilized, and the light can efficiently illuminate the required illumination area. In addition, an image reader apparatus can perform high-speed reading using such an illuminator.
Abstract:
An image reader includes a transparent plate (1) having end portions (1a and 1b) that are chamfered in a direction in which a document is carried thereon. The transparent plate (1) has recess portions (11a and 11b) formed in a lower surface thereof, and a housing (4) is engaged into the recess portions of the transparent plate. The image reader can prevent such a document as a check or banknote from being jammed, can be easily assembled and improve the reliability of the carrying of the document, and enables higher-speed reading.
Abstract:
A light guide capable of reducing the degrading of the read image, even when the document face is raised, by expanding the distribution of light intensities in the longitudinal direction in the position of the irradiated item (document position), and a line illuminator into which the light guide is incorporated. The light guide emits lights incident on an end face from an emitting face extending longitudinally, while having the lights reflected by an internal face of the guide. The sectional shape of the internal face in a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction is provided with first and second oval arc curved faces, first and second emitting faces, and a light scattering part formed on the focal position (or a position near the focus) of the oval on the longer axis plane of each oval. The concentrating position of lights reflected by the first curved face and the concentrating position of lights reflected by the second curved face are different from each other.
Abstract:
A lens unit (U15) includes a housing (45), an upper and a lower lens arrays (A1′, A2′), and a first and a second prisms (4A, 4B). Each of the lens arrays includes a plurality of lenses, a light-shielding member (4), and a plurality of positioning projections, all of which are integral with each other. Downwardly traveling light which enters the housing (45) through a first slit (45c) formed at an upper portion of the housing (45) is directed upward by the first prism (4A) to pass through the two lens arrays (A1′, A2′). The light is then directed downward by the second prism (4B) to exit the housing through a second slit (45d) formed at a lower portion of the housing (45).
Abstract:
A reciprocal contact-type image sensor includes a case having an upper surface formed with an opening, a cover glass closing the opening and providing a linear reading region extending in the primary scanning direction. A sheet as an object to be read, coming into contact with the linear reading region, is reciprocally moved in the secondary scanning direction which is perpendicular to the primary scanning direction. The opening is defined by a pair of edges spaced in the secondary scanning direction. Each of the edges includes a convex surface having a top positioned above the outer surface of the cover glass.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a light guide for guiding light from a light source in a longitudinal direction and radiating the light to illuminate an object to be illuminated, which comprises a diffuser for diffusing the light from the light source along the longitudinal direction of the light guide, and a radiator for radiating the light diffused by the diffuser in a predetermined direction. By arranging the diffuser and the radiator so that a normal line passing through the center of the width of the diffuser is different from the predetermined direction at least in the vicinity of the light source when viewed in the longitudinal direction of the light guide, the illuminance distribution of the longitudinal direction of the light guide is uniformed.
