Abstract:
A subject or original illuminating device includes a spot-like light source for emitting illuminating light, a plurality of optical fibers having first ends bundled together near the light source and opposite ends arranged in an array along a main scanning line on a subject to be illuminated, the opposite ends in the array being spaced at intervals which are progressively smaller from a center toward opposite ends of the array, and a cylindrical lens disposed between the opposite ends of the optical fibers and the subject for converging the illuminating light from the opposite ends of the optical fibers onto the main scanning line on the subject. The optical fibers may have their opposite ends equally spaced in the array and including selected light emitting ends spaced at intervals which are progressively smaller from a center toward opposite ends of the array, and the cylindrical lens may converge the illuminating light from the selected light emitting ends of the optical fibers onto the main scanning line on the subject.
Abstract:
A contact-type linear image sensor has two separate substrates aligned adjacent to each other. A linear array of amorphous silicon photoelectric converting elements serving as photoelectric cells and a matrix wiring unit are provided on a first substrate. Driver IC chips are mounted on a second substrate. Connection pad patterns for common cell electrodes of cell groups and connection pad patterns for row signal lines of the matrix wiring unit are provided concentrically at a peripheral edge of the first substrate to be aligned along a junction edge line defined between the substrates. Connection pad patterns for the IC chips are linearly aligned at a peripheral edge of the second substrate and along the substrate junction edge line to oppose the pad patterns of the first substrate. A connector unit for electrically connecting the pad patterns of the first and second substrates may be provided at only one position of the junction edge portion of the first and second substrates.
Abstract:
An image sensor (100) comprises a lens (4), a sensor (6) and a first casing (1). The lens (4) is configured to focus light irradiated toward an object to be read (30) from a direction tilted relative to the X-Z plane, and reflected by the object to be read (30). The sensor (6) is configured to receive the light focused by the lens (4). The first casing (1) is configured to contain or retain the lens (4) and the sensor (6) and to have, in a surface (1j) extending along a main scanning direction, a tilted portion having a length in a sub-scanning direction that decreases toward the object to be read (30).
Abstract:
A position adjustment apparatus couples an imaging unit, which includes an imaging sensor and a focusing lens unit, to a base frame and is capable of adjusting a position of the imaging unit. The image sensor reads a document image and the focusing lens unit forms the document image by using the image sensor. The position adjustment apparatus may include an adjustment frame on which the focusing lens unit and the image sensor are installed, a height fixing member for coupling the adjustment frame to the base frame so as to fix a height of the adjustment frame at a fixed support position, and first and second adjustment members for coupling the adjustment frame to the base frame so as to adjust the height of the adjustment frame at first and second adjustable support positions. An image reading apparatus may include the imaging unit and the position adjustment apparatus.
Abstract:
An image sensor including: light guides for irradiating light onto an irradiated object; a lens that focuses reflected light that was reflected by the irradiated object; a sensor that receives the reflected light that was focused by the lens; and a housing. The housing houses or holds the light guides, the lens, and the sensor, and is formed by integrating a housing metal portion and a housing resin portion.
