Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for routing communications to contact centers. When an incoming communication is detected, calling party identification information is associated to a communications profile. When a called party has multiple communications devices, then a location is received for each of the called party's multiple communications devices. The incoming communication is then routed based on the location of the called party's multiple communications devices.

These mechanisms and methods for integrating a PBX-equipped client and an on-demand database service can enable embodiments with additional infrastructure at the client that is better equipped to leverage the on-demand database service. The ability of embodiments to provide such client side infrastructure can enable additional enhanced services in conjunction with telephone calls, etc.

Systems, method, and media for providing communication services between an application and a computer telephony interface server are provided. One of a plurality of computer telephony interface drivers is launched as a primary computer telephony interface driver to interface the application with the computer telephony interface server. The computer telephony interface drivers are monitored with a plurality of monitors. Each of the monitors is associated with one of the computer telephony interface drivers and monitors a status of another of the computer telephony interface drivers. A failure of the primary computer telephony interface driver is detected with a secondary monitor. The secondary monitor monitors the primary computer telephony interface driver and is associated with a secondary computer telephony interface driver. The secondary computer telephony interface driver is launched with the secondary monitor in response to the secondary monitor detecting the failure of the primary computer telephony interface driver.

In a communications system, a first packet network is provided. Packetized data is transferred between the system and one or more packet-based devices. A TDM network is provided, and data is transmitted in frames having slots. Data transmitted via the TDM network includes data for voice communications for telephony devices. The TDM network is selectively coupled to the first packet network and a WAN. A processor and a control bus interface circuit control transfer of packetized data and transmittal of data for voice communications. The processor controls processing of packetized data and data for voice communications. A switch/multiplexer selectively controls providing data to/from particular slots. The processor selectively controls voice communications from telephony devices over the TDM network and packet-based communications over the packet network. Voice communications that stay in a circuit-switched form occur over the TDM network and the WAN.

An administration of telephony applications conventionally using domain controller-based access authorization methods is provided such to eliminate the need for these methods. In a network where terminal devices are connected to time division multiplexed or packet-oriented network components, a terminal device establishes a communication link to a terminal device-specific adaptation for telephony applications via an interface for telephony applications, and the authorization for importing data is verified. Data is imported via the communication link to affected applications or affected services of the network. Any terminal device can be used to import the data and that no special authorizations are required for access as the proprietary/license keys that are exchanged between the terminal device and the exchange and the domain controller provide protection from unauthorized access to the exchange and to the local network connected thereto. For accessing the exchange and the domain controller, only one authorization check method is required.

Systems and methods by which voice/data communications may occur in multiple modes/protocols are disclosed. In particular, systems and methods are provided for multiple native mode/protocol voice and data transmissions and receptions with a computing system having a multi-bus structure, including, for example, a TDM bus and a packet bus, and multi-protocol framing engines. Such systems preferably include subsystem functions such as PBX, voice mail and other telephony functions, LAN hub and data router or switch functions. In preferred embodiments, a TDM bus and a packet bus are intelligently bridged and managed, thereby enabling such multiple mode/protocol voice and data transmissions to be intelligently managed and controlled with a single, integrated system. In particular, systems and methods for generating required telephony voltages directly on station cards, rather than on the basis of a large, central ringing or other power supply that supply such telephony voltages to each of the station cards, are disclosed. In accordance with the present invention, a plurality of station cards are provided in the telephony or communications system. One or more DC power supplies provide a source of DC voltage, such as 12 volts, to each of the station cards. The station cards are coupled to a processor of the system. The station cards may support a plurality of analog and/or digital telephony devices, such as telephones facsimile, voice mail, recording, speakerphone, conferencing or other type telephony devices.

A computer telephony system allows a user to control different communications terminals at different times via a second system, external to the computer telephony system. The computer telephony system comprises a plurality of communications terminals each of which has an identifier. The computer telephony system further comprises means for generating a key and for recording internally a mapping linking the key and the identifier of a first communications terminal and means for changing the mapping, on a request by the user, so as to link the key with a second communications terminal. In operation, the key is provided to a second system, external to the computer telephony system and accessible by the user. According to one aspect, the computer telephony system further comprises means for issuing a computer telephony message comprising the identifier of the first communications terminal to a communications controller in response to receiving from the second system the key and a computer telephony command provided to the second system from the user.
