Abstract: A preliminary image is captured that includes parts of an authentication target person. Main authentication targets are determined. The main authentication targets are those parts that each have an acceptable image-capturing state. A single image-capturing device can then be controlled to successively capture images of the main authentication parts of the authentication target person that have been determined with different settings. These images of the main authentication parts that have been captured can then be output. For instance, authentication of the target person may be performed using authentication data for each main authentication part, where such authentication is successfully when authentication for all the main authentication parts is successful.

Abstract: A method of enrolling a user at a biometric lockset is described. The method includes receiving user access information from a mobile device of an administrative user of the biometric lockset. The user access information indicates to the biometric lockset to enter an enrollment mode in which a user identity is associated with fingerprint data in a user entry within a memory of the biometric lockset. A plurality of different light codes are displayed on the lockset, each one of the plurality of light codes representative of a different state of fingerprint data capture. A message is transmitted to the mobile device, and corresponds to the light code displayed at the lockset. The completed fingerprint data is stored in association with the user identity of the user in the user entry.

Abstract: This document describes systems and techniques directed at expediting fingerprint authentication via variable refresh rate control and display luminance compensation. In aspects, a computing device having an under-display fingerprint sensor (UDFPS) and a touch-sensitive display includes a biometric authentication manager. Upon detecting at least one finger at or near the touch-sensitive display, the biometric authentication manager implements variable display refresh rates and selectively adjusts luminance settings for a high-luminance region of the touch-sensitive display for predetermined intervals. In so doing, at least one finger can be well-illuminated during UDFPS image capturing, facilitating UDFPS sensing and expediting fingerprint authentication.

Abstract: A method for identification and authentication of objects includes providing a central electronic system, including a database; providing at least one electronic user device; and providing one or more physical entities, each physical entity being equipped with a message reception and transmission system comprising a secure chipset storing digital identifiers and encryption keys of said physical entity. The at least one user device interrogates the central electronic system in order to receive authentication data of one or more of the physical entities, entered in said database. In reply, the at least one user device receives the authentication data and sends authentication request messages to the one or more physical entities. The at least one user device receives replies to the authentication request messages from at least one of the one or more physical entities, including parameters and digital identifiers of the user devices and, based on the parameters, performs an acquisition of at least one video image of the physical entity.
