A brake fluid pressure control device for vehicles is provided capable of adjusting with a simple control a brake fluid pressure applied to a wheel brake. The control device includes for each system of an X-pipe arrangement: a cut valve as a linear solenoid valve provided to a first fluid pressure path; a pump capable of pressurizing brake fluid on a side toward the wheel brakes than the cut valve on the first fluid pressure path; and a control valve provided on the second fluid pressure path. The control device further includes: a target fluid pressure setting portion for setting a target fluid pressure for each of the wheel brake; and a valve actuating portion for drive-controlling the cut valve and the control valve, based on the target fluid pressure. The valve actuating portion performs for each of the systems the operations of drive-controlling the cut valve by using a higher one of the target fluid pressures of the wheel brakes as a target fluid pressure of the first fluid pressure path, to control the wheel brake having the higher target fluid pressure by driving only the cut valve, and of controlling a wheel brake having a lower target fluid pressure by driving the control valve corresponding to the wheel brake having the lower target fluid pressure.

In a brake apparatus, a pump sucks brake fluid and discharges the brake fluid through a pump discharge conduit. Orifices are connected in series with one another with respect to brake fluid flow discharged from the pump and restrict the brake fluid flow. Because the orifices are formed for restricting brake fluid pulsation, the brake fluid pressure discharged from the pump decreases gradually. Therefore, cavitations are not generated at lower reaches of the orifices because the brake fluid pressure does not decrease rapidly. As a result, the brake apparatus decreases or restricts undesirable noise.

A method and a device are described for controlling the brake pressure acting on a wheel brake in a braking system having a pressure generation device for generating a setpoint pressure (Pset) preset by a regulation, an intake valve for admitting a brake fluid into the wheel brake, and a pressure-limiting valve for limiting the brake pressure to a selectable threshold value. To improve the braking response of the wheel brake, it is suggested that the threshold value be set at the pressure-limiting valve as a function of the pressure buildup gradient.

Disclosed herein is a solenoid valve for brake systems. The solenoid valve includes a spool movably set in a valve housing, provided along its central axis with the first orifice which has a predetermined diameter, and provided at a position around the plunger with a plunger guide having a predetermined depth for allowing the plunger to enter the spool, thus opening and closing the first orifice. A valve seat portion is formed on the inner surface of the bore of the valve housing by stepping the surface. This valve seat portion defines the second orifice therein, and comes into contact with or spaced from the end of the spool to selectively open the outlet, separately from the first orifice when the spool moves in either direction. The second orifice has an inner diameter larger than that of the first orifice. A spool restoring spring normally biases the spool toward the plunger.

A valve seat of the magnet valve is embodied on the bottom of the cup-shaped sleeve. In order to make a large flow cross section available for a flow through the magnet valve in one flow direction, a check valve is integrated with the magnet valve and that to this end flow openings are disposed on an imaginary circle in the bottom of the cup-shaped sleeve. The openings are closed by an annular valve closing body of the check valve. The magnet valve of the invention is intended particularly for use as a brake pressure buildup valve for a wheel brake cylinder of a slip-controlled vehicle brake system.
